Re: Decision time....How to sale my boat
Thanks for the replies. A friend suggested I take it to the middle of Sparkleberry Swamp and tie it to a tree to use as a floating cabin. I think I may just par it out if I cant get any interest. But either way I will start by posting here to the classifieds section. First I need to get caught up on...

Decision time....How to sale my boat
Well I have come to a decision. I want to ditch my boat but I am trying to decide which will be the best way. Right now, with the exception of removing the keel, rub-rail and separating the deck and hull she is completely disassembled. I had the idea of doing a full restoration but every time I stat...

Goin Home
I finally got my orders to go home. One year in Afghanistan feels like a lifetime. I can't wait to get back and start getting the Mac back together. Just 2 weeks to go.

Re: Question on Epoxy
I did a little checking this is what i found. SOURCE: http://www.westsystem.com/ss/storage-shelf-life Store at room temperature. Keep containers closed to prevent contamination. With proper storage, resin and hardeners should remain usable for many years. Over time, 105 Resin will thicken slightly a...

Re: Question on Epoxy
I will admit they poly is cheaper, but I have read about delamination and shrinkage also. I also have not seen a poly that gave a good finish to wood. I do want to have a good finish that is clear at least on the woodwork. I may go with the Mas, the main deciding factor between West and Mas will be ...

Re: Rigging Size Inquiry
Catigale, you're welcome, and thanks. I went back and looked I didn't see a reference to 3/8 standing rigging. I think Dark and Stormy was referring to using that for the running rigging. I still have to find that out myself. I did make a buddy near Shaw AFB where, I'm going that used to sail a Mac ...

Re: The Lighthouses of NC
I cant say much for the sailing side of the OBX but I spend a lot of time around Morehead city and Beaufort NC. There are a few good places to visit. One is the PineKnoll Shores Aquarium and Ft Macon. Great things to see there and trails to walk. At Ft Macon you can walk out on the jetty and do some...
