Re: Stern Light wiring broken

Rodie,
I forgot to mention that the electrical panel and the stern light were both moved at different times during the production run of the 26X. It would help to know the year of your boat.

Re: Stern Light wiring broken

I believe that my "X" was still wired as it came from the factor and this is what I found... The stern light is spliced just behind the breaker panel on the port side of the companionway. From the splice it runs down between the top and the bottom sections of the liner. If you pull the top...

Re: Wiring Up an Anchor Light on the 26M

Russ, I had the same experience hitting stuff in the ceiling. Places that looked like they should be a straight shot sometimes had stuff in the way. I just kept trying different routes until I found one that gave me a (reasonably) straight pull for the wire I was running. Sometimes it involved pull...

Re: Adding LiON to existing system

If I thought about it long enough I could probably tell you exactly why you got the readings you saw but it makes my head hurt to do that sort of stuff these days. :? I can tell you that the lithium battery runs around 13V and you had a mystery 3V. That's probably why you had 16V at the battery but ...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025

It sort of depends on how far you are from civilization when the impeller gives up the ghost. When I was doing mostly fresh water on inland lakes and lightly traveled rivers I'd run until it stopped working. I had an old Evinrude Ski Twin that I had for close to 20 years and never changed the impell...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025

You should be fine.

Unless I know I've abused it I don't worry about a 2 year old impeller.

Re: Sail Twist

Wind was approx 7 Knots and I was probably trying to head 22 degrees to windward. I dont have the original mast but my mast does seem to have the fore stay mounted a few feet lower than the rear stay on the mast so I may play with de tensioning my side stays a bit and see if I can arch the mast a b...

Re: Wiring Up an Anchor Light on the 26M

Russ (and any other would-be wire pullers), I used a washer on a piece of fishing line and a strong magnet while pulling new wire through the liner ceiling. I didn't trust the fishing line to be able to pull the actual wire so I pulled a smaller intermediate wire first, then pulled the actual #12 I ...

Re: Adding LiON to existing system

Hi MacFolks, I am hoping someone can help me with a curious problem that I'm having with this installation. I transferred everything to the boat, as is, except the little 12V battery on the output side of DC to DC charger, as that's where the main battery bank will connect. I wired everything up ex...

Marine 14-2? Aren't we fancy!

The "X" mast was wired with 14-2 lamp cord :P .

Re: Wiring Up an Anchor Light on the 26M

When I rewired my "X" mast (no flotation) I found it easier to drill out the rivets and remove the plate at the base of the mast to make pulling the wires easier. I don't know if the "M" has a similar riveted plate.

It took a while, but here's the post referenced above. Re: Raising mast on ramp?

I left the boom attached once when I needed to "dip" the mast to retrieve a halyard that I'd let get away from me when rigging. :x As I recall there was not enough clearance between the boom and the cabin top to lower the mast into the support. Since I was rigging at the dock I was able to...
