Re: If you have a Wallas stove + heater (blower) ...
I have the Wallas 1300 paraffin heater (smallest one), and there is a bit of clicking when it starts up, but after that it's very occasional & I don't notice it at all. The sound of the blower I certainly notice, but I don't know how you'd avoid that with a forced air system on a small boat. Sur...

Camperize 26M?
Hi - I'm thinking of using my Mac as a camper for part of the summer, and wonder any of our good members have good (workable
) ideas on the subject? Not planning on roughing it, rather using campsites with hookups where possible.

Something like this, eh?!... Pretty close - but this wd be closer: http://luxuryassetnetwork.com/asset/boat/4/6/648/efa1fe353c9404421093ac7680145de8.jpg It's a Willard, 34', I think. Not the greatest sailboat, but close enough for government work, as it were. Looks right for the environment it's in...

A T37? The only T37 I'm aware of is a Cessna https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... 9G-003.jpg, but landing in False Creek cd be tricky
So, counting on my ignorance being more or less total - what is a T37?

Re: BC local knowledge
With conditions as expected, I'd pass on crossing the Strait - the wind wd blow you there smartly enough but it might be more exciting than comfortable, and the waves can get pretty steep. Howe Sound shd not be a problem with an offshore Low & S.E. wind, but check the local forecast @ http://wea...

Re: BC local knowledge
Wind in the Strait is almost always NW or SE, and wave action strongest in the middle; places to watch out for during a high pressure on the mainland are the mouths of the sounds, which funnel the outflow. Howe Sound can be pretty boisterous. A westerly may give rise to strong offshore winds near Qu...

There are always deals to be had, and it's definitely worth going if you live in Vancouver; if not, depends a bit on travel costs. But if you don't ski - what else are you going to do in January?

Re: what size line on roller furler
It bears saying, that you should keep in view the relative diameters of the furling line on the spool, and the furled sail. On a brand new headsail with a sewn on UV strip, I once discovered that at one point the diameter of the furled on sail was greater than that of the spooled line being pulled -...

Probably wouldn't hurt either, to spray the bunks with silicon lubricant. Waterproof, won't transfer to the hull and will last a while.

Re: Now What?
Well, I have to ask - does anyone actually use the forward compartment on the M for sleeping? I'm pretty short and to me it looks like a torture chamber. Small kids I can imagine, but a couple of adults? And that's not even considering that if your feet are forward then your head is down, unless you...
