Re: Rudder damage 26x
You could build a new one or repair the one you have but I would just bite the bullet and get one sent to your door for 450$ American from Ruddercraft.

Re: model 19 rudders
My 19 requires a gentle hand, it is far too easy to stall the rudders and boat. It is a big fat pig dinghy that you have to wait for response from minor tiler movement before gently telling it where you want it to go. I also have been thinking about hobie rudders. Please be a Guinea Pig

Re: build your own cruiser in 30min +
I have built several cedar strip canoes and kayaks and when I got sick of working on them I could see light at the end of the tunnel which spurred me on to finish. I can't Imagine taking on a project that size!

Re: Mast and standing rigging
I find it very interesting that we have come full circle back to rope rigging. My plan is to keep the wire rigging and make a spare set of 5mm that will be much easier to keep on board. I hope to find a M17 -22 mast so I can keep the split m19 mast below also. I am going to test by replacing my back...

Re: Model 19 valve repair
By the way the :mac19: is a rare bird they only about 1000 of them J 8) Are you sure it is that rare? Did they only make 1000 or are there only 1000 left alive? They made about a thousand and about 1/3 of them have been kidnapped by foreigners! There are usually only 3 or 4 avalible in the USA at a...

Re: Model 19 valve repair
Glad to see another 19 owner. I love mine but as with most things My eyes are bigger than my wallet. My wish list if purchased would cost 2 to 3 times what I paid for the boat.

Re: T fiting instead of valve for twin fuel tanks?
Since your goal is equalizing the weight, you could put a T on both tank outlets, with a line directly connecting the two tanks with a valve between them, then open it while you are level. Check valves would stop fuel from flowing between the tanks and equalizing. But the easiest solution is do to ...

Re: T fiting instead of valve for twin fuel tanks?
Put a check valve in each tank, line to keep fuel from back feeding the tank. Problem solved on the transfer. Thanks I like the idea of two check valves it solves the problem I didn't think of the high side tank over filling the low side when sailing and they are cheaper than a valve I'd have to swi...

T fiting instead of valve for twin fuel tanks?
Would there be any problem with using a T fitting rather than a selector valve for twin tanks? I would prefer motor to draw from both tanks to keep weight even.

Re: Clam cleat for halyards?
That looks like it would work fine. BWY installed the aft lines with these spinlock cleats. LOVE LOVE LOVE 'em. --Russ Thanks! I have never seen those spinlock cleats. They are much cheaper than clutches and it seems much easier to unload than a cam cleat. Getting boat bucks past the Wife is one of...
