Re: Best sailing speed
Ah just put up more sail https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL8FeXDKD84&t=17s J :D It seems unfathomable how you keep her standing. What was the wind speed and boat speed, do you recall? Do you have weather Helm? I can already see your forestay tension is greater than mine. I've been thinking abou...

Re: Best sailing speed
Hi JimmyT,
That is a great report.
I am keen to tighten the standing rigging, though I won't be able to connect the roller furling forestay if I do tighten it any more. I get quite a bow in the jib leading edge profile above 12 kts.

Re: Best sailing speed
There no way I would consider a Genoa at that wind speed on my tattoo tight to the wind.

Re: Best sailing speed
Hi folks, I don't get notifications via email on replies. Life goes on and I forgot to check the forum. So, just a follow up on speed. Now that I have been lake sailing my Tattoo 26 now since 2015 I have experienced a range of "top speeds". If the bottom is fouled I wont see past 4.2 Kts. ...

Hi Rus,
Yes, I can. Sorry I didn't spot this sooner.
I never get email notifications from this board. Never.

Re: Best sailing speed
Hi all, I sail my :tat26: Tattoo 26 the same as the dingys from my youth, constantly working the sails and looking for that bit extra. I got great advise from Blue Water Yachts, and with a few mods from them, saw good improvement. I too, sail an inland lake, so winds are always shifting. I put a low...

Re: "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated"
I agree with Kurtz. I sail my Tattoo 26 :tat26: single handed 99% of the time. I actually get frustrated if I have more than one other person aboard. My family can't sail, and are not interested in learning, so they are just in the way! Sorry to be negative, but if Tattoo yachts are not back by now,...

Re: Flyorsail.com Pegasus Aeronautics ripped me off??
Hi All, Just a follow-up. I did manage to get a digital copy of the manual. I re-calibrated the unit and it's working perfectly. I find that I watch the arrow at the top of the mast, when I sail on my own with the bimini folded away. When the Admiral is with me we are under Bimini. I tune the sails ...

Re: Flyorsail.com Pegasus Aeronautics ripped me off??
Hi All, I know I am very late to this tread, and I really have not been here to macgregorsailors in a long time. I have this FlyorSail wind indicator from Pegasus without the gauge on my :tat26: . I am using NEMA to my B&G Zeus 2. It has worked great since installation, which was May of 2016. Wh...

Re: Sliding Bimini track car
I checked their site. Didn’t see it there.
Bill from boats4sale must have sourced it. I wondered if it was a common part on 26M’s and the Tattoo 26.
I see Barton marine has something similar. I am in the USA, and that is a UK product.

Sliding Bimini track car
Hello fellow sailors,
Can anyone suggest where I will find the adjustable Bimini track car used for fitting the Bimini to the 1” t-track that has the Genoa car?
I have looked and looked online.
Thank you

Re: Your Opinion on new Sails for a 26M
I purchase CDI and 100% mylar jib/sock combo from BWY last season for my :tat26:. Much better sail than factory jib. Noticeably more power. Fast acceleration in light variable winds. My boat gets overpowered with this jib and standard Tattoo 26 main at about 10 knots. I have to agree that I don't se...

Re: Tattoo 26 Mainsail
I thought I would post an update for the sake of demonstrating the benefits of this forum. Cheryl from bwyachts.com posted her thoughts and experience here, along with great input from tomfoolery and sailboatmike. So, if you have read down this thread, let me say that I have gone from being the obvi...
