Re: MMOR Ontario Canada 2015 Mac Meet July 20-27 Port Credit
but this cruise is on my bucket list It's beautiful up there. This is our 10th year doing this cruise. Fortunately we go in long before they closed registration. I think they may be keeping a list of people who want to join, and my experience has been usually about 10% of cruise registrants can't m...

Re: Smelly Cockpit Cushions
We pulled out the old foam and it was deteriorating - no mould, but there's probably some we can't see. We bought 4" mattress foam and cut it using the old foam as a pattern. They definitely smell better - but the vinyl still smells like well....... vinyl. They are much more comfortable and def...

Re: Smelly Cockpit Cushions
The cushions do have zippers and we pulled out the foam and washed the foam and the vinyl covers. Oddly enough there is no sign of mould or mildew on any of the foam or covers, that's why I'm so confused.
I may pick up some new foam for the short term and see how that goes

Smelly Cockpit Cushions
We have a new to us - 1997 :macx: She has the stock grey squishy cockpit cushions. They smell like sweaty feet. We've washed the cushions and the foam and they still smell nasty. Our friends had the same cushions on their :tat26: with the same problem. My guess it's the kind of vinyl of the cushion ...

Re: 2015 B.E.E.R. Cruise
Sorry DaveB. We sailed Pensacola in March of 2008, and Lake Champlain in 2011, but other than that we've kept north of the border.
But those sound like great places to check out

Re: 2015 B.E.E.R. Cruise
Here's a few pics of the cockpit deck before it was stained and the nav seat. The captain put snaps on the seat so the original cushions fit so it's comfy 8) The last pic kind of shows how the whole seat/solar panel works (hard to see the solar panel). https://scontent-lga1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xf...

Hi there, I am the 'Admiral' of Thistle Dew :). I haven't been on this forum in a long time (couldn't remember my name and password). I'm glad to be back, and glad I found this thread. My husband/Captain of Thistle Dew is in fact Shawn and yes we did trailer down from Ontario Canada with our friends...

Re: 1986 Mac25 Galley
Our Mac25 did not have a galley, and I agree the stock model is a serious waste of space. My husband built a custom galley across from the table, and then we' used the space where the stock galley would slide as storage and a quarter berth for our daughter.
