Another water ballasted trailer sailer

I spotted something interesting of a recent issue of Sail Magazine, looks like a company called Ventura Sport Boats is getting ready to produce the Ventura 2300. Its very similar to the 26M/X boats. URL: https://venturasportboats.com/ventura-2300/ Possibly they are picking up the slack from the abse...

Re: Smartphone for navigation?

I'm pretty sure you can download the detailed maps of the area you'll be running in Navionics.

Re: Smartphone for navigation?

Pretty much any tablet or smartphone with a GPS chipset should do, the only thing I run into is the displays are often not bright enough for sunny days, compared to regular chart plotters.

Re: Favorite Smart Phone Apps?

You can tether it to a phone, or just use the Navionics like a chart. I use mine under the enclosure in bad weather or up top in good. No case. Yes, but I don't know of a way to Tether to a GPS receiver, so to speak :( I believe there are Bluetooth GPS pucks on the market that should be able to int...

Re: After you first got your Mac, what was the first thing y

Hello all, Ahoy! I've been lurking in here for a while and been working on my 2000 :macx: to get her ship shape. First thing I had to do is rebuild the BF 50 lower unit, that was painful but fortunately the labor was free. After that was to replace the lighting with LED navigation lights. Hope to se...

Re: 26s Stuck Keel

Greetings, I had the same issue on my :macx: and it was due to marine growth in the trunk. It was a bit of a challenge to get it cleaned out and it slides out nicely now. Also I believe the keel needs to be flooded to help it to go down since the one in my :macx: has a cavity in it, otherwise it wan...

Re: Push and Pull

Hello all, I've quietly lurking in the background for awhile, learning about all the things for my new to me 2000 :macx:. Anyhow there are several hitch manufacturers out there that do make front receiver hitches for most trucks and some SUV's. That definitely makes it easier to back trailers into t...
