96 X vs. 02 X - Diffferences?

If I currently own a 2002 26x, would I notice the differences on a 96 if I had to buy it for the summer?

I know the rudders, steering, and ballast are different (in addition it being moved forward in the 02) better sailing?

That's it?

When did the balsa come out of the deck?

Re: How would you design a trailerable power sailor?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eovBozRo5gg Thanks. Saw that before, but thought this was a one-off. Nobody has had any issues going to that horsepower and speed? This certainly changes things. Anyone ever race an Odin with similar hp motor? How about under sail? I’m leaning back toward the 26x, but ...

Re: Signaleer - 26x Transom Extension - Addition - Each side added about 1 foot

Thank you! But that is not it. I saw a 26x that had two extensions at the water line on each side of the motor. Ed Hello Signaleer. I think this is the boat you were looking for. The contact information for the owner/seller, Currie, is in the ad. http://www.sononics.com/mac/ https://i.postimg.cc/Ppc...

Anyone need a Loos Gauge?

I have a PT-1, new in box, never opened or used. I accidentally bought two.

Over 100 online, I'll sell for 70 bucks and you pay flat rate shipping - should be like 80 total?

Re: Shore power cord

If your power needs are less than 15A (that covers all Macgegors that I have ever seen) consider this: https://www.amazon.ca/Conntek-Marine-Pigtail-Adapter-Connector/dp/B001TNQ95C/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=shore+power+adapter&qid=1578239767&sprefix=shore+power+&sr=8-4 and a s...

Re: Discussion about Traveller's, Heel, and something I am confused about

Just to clarify the question: Ed, are you wondering if attaching the main sheet at cabin top will increase heel; and conversely, attaching it to the bottom of the keel would reduce heel (absurdity for purpose of illustration). Is your thought that the main sheet pulls on the attachment point creati...

Re: Discussion about Traveller's, Heel, and something I am confused about

...Everything you said... I completely get what you are discussing with moments and the stresses introduced to the components, so wasn't my question but the answer definitely is sound thank you very much for the detailed discussion. Your point though is that there are really only a few forces that ...

Discussion about Traveller's, Heel, and something I am confused about

So, I fancy myself both a good looking bloke, and one who knows a bit about sailing. But alas, I may be confused about one, so I turn to my merry group of dolts on the Mac site. So, a traveller, is used to induce, or reduce, twist in the mainsail. Adding a traveller to an X, first, if the mainsail i...

Re: Routing Electrical Wire 26x - What type of black magic does this require?

Thanks all!

Right now, I think we will just let the existing wire in place.

How much less current do LED's require? do you think?

I mean, conversationally? 2 X the light? (length of time?) I'm now going to go try to source LED lights :)

Routing Electrical Wire 26x - What type of black magic does this require?

Ok, who's done it... and F'n how?

I would love to rewire the entire boat. Did you have to drill access holes? Or... ?

How did you do it?

Yours in discontentment,

Ed.

Re: Rudders up when motoring

You'll snap your rudders, or risk it, and/or cause a dangerous situation to your crew if you keep the rudders down over those speeds.

30 hp is nothing.

Driving takes time and experience - turn it much much much less than you think you need to. Wait. Adjust more if needed.
