That heater looks great. Know I would NOT attempt that project. Great Job.

Re: Hope everyone is doing well, Have not been on lately

OverEasy took about 12 hrs to sand,(120 then 220 then 320 grit sandpaper), then paint first coat, then sand with 400 grit, then second coat. This process took about 12 hrs. Our front windows were in good shape so we just removed them by cutting the caulk and some very careful prying. We then removed...

Installing new LiFePo4 200ah battery

After repainting all the black on our 26X and installing new rub rail we installed a new Power Queen 200 AH LiFePo4 battery. We removed 2 of our 6 volt Trojan 105 batteries and installed this Power Queen 200AH which only weighs 44 lbs. The 2 trojan 105's weigh 125 lbs. A bit of a weight savings. We ...

This is a pic of our 6hp motor we now have a 2.3 hp honda which is 29 lbs instead of 60 lbs that the 6 hp weighed. This is the way we mounted ours. The mount moves up and down about 8 inches. Not sure if you are looking for a mount like this or something different. I can get a close up of the mount ...

Re: Hope everyone is doing well, Have not been on lately

We put on the new rub rail. First we found the middle of the rub rail then starting in the front we put on one side, then the other side without putting the 5200 on. We tied them together in the back then attached them to a light weight come along. We then stretched the rub rail, you could do this b...

Painting Black on a 26X

We started painting the black yesterday. We are using Pettit EZPoxy and Pettit Brushing Thinner 120. Also a $20 very nice all paints brush. We thinned the paint just a little with the Brushing Thinner to keep down the noticeable brush marks in the finished paint job. (I spent about 20 years painting...

Painting Black on a 26X

We rebeded the front windows today. The one leaked on the admirals head when it rained if we were sleeping is why they were taken out and the old caulk removed then rebeded. The black stripes paint was getting thin is the reason for sanding and repainting. pic below https://i.postimg.cc/k2Hdh73T/IMG...

Re: The Admiral Wants Heat

Thats a really nice install. Our only heat is a small space heater when hooked to power and the stove when on anchor. Make hot chocolate it heats up the cabin then you heat up your insides with the chocolate.

Re: Unexpected Event

Bill enjoyed our visit. It was a great time. Sad to see Steinhatchee all tore up by the hurricane, but glad your place was fine. Just about finished with all the debris from the hurricane in our yard from trees. When we finish that we will start getting the Jill Kristy ready for this winter and our ...

Re: Question about Access: Stern "fins" for fuel vent 26X

Kind of late to the party but we have two 12 gallon tanks the non-vented kind and I put Vented lids on them so they would not blow up like a bullfrog. We have a complete enclosure and we actually never have problems with fumes. We of course do most of our boating in Canada in the summer or northern ...

Re: Courageous Mod 3: Battery Monitors/USB

Yes if possible you should buy your batteries at the same time from the same lot. We bought 4 Trojan 105, 6 volt batteries in 2015 and use them every year in our boat or trailer for 7 to 9 months. They still are working just fine. Here is a pic of our electronics board in the Mac. https://i.postimg....

Re: celebrating 20 years of Mac ownership

In 2015 my wife and I went to Sanford to look at Hershal's Mac and helped him put his mast up. We eventually bought a Mac 26X a few weeks later. Still have it and have traveled over 14000 miles on the Mac. Have only had it 8 years but no regrets. We do not use the mast just use the boat as a trawler...
