Re: Keys loop

Here in north Florida, you need more than a cardigan. Sometimes it gets cold enough here to burst pipes that were minding their own business. :? This little old man hopes to winter in south Florida and spend the rest of the year in north Florida. 8) If it is cold enough to burst pipes, I don't want ...

Re: Smashed Sail Feed Slot

I had a similar thing happen years back with my first mac mast. Our drop was a bit more "exciting". Thankfully no one was hurt. We had luck with a wood wedge and a hammer. It will take time but bang her in there, then leave it and repeat. The damage is already done, you don't have to be gentle. You ...

Re: The Great Loop support Network Area Coverage (NO DISCUSSION)

With advance notice, I could help anyone near the Florida "armpit". St. George island to Cedar Key.

Re: Keys loop

Sounds awesome, please keep us posted.

One day, I would love to do a Steinhatchee to Key West and back around loop in preparation for a great loop one day.

I retire in two years. For now, I will have to live vicariously through you.

Re: Any news on the Tattoo 22?

Nice aft - I took my Miamistyle up to North Fl almost 20 years ago. I live in a small town about an hours drive from Stienhatchee. If you have never been to Stienhatchee, there is a long channel to get out into deep water. It used to take me an hour each way when I had a Mac Classic. I won't have th...

Mac 19 wheel steering

https://i.postimg.cc/640vCdjP/IMG-1391.jpg Got one of the last Evinrude 40 hp, luckily I had a small console that fit laying around. (Consoles this size are getting harder to find.) It runs like a dream and had no problem getting up on plane with my wife and two college age daughters on board. A lo...

Re: Any news on the Tattoo 22?

I officially have the coolest :mac19: on the planet. I was able to obtain one of the last evinrude 40 hp made and put it on the back with a small console and wheel steering. It runs so good I will be taking her deep sea fishing in the gulf when it warms back up. Oh and check out the go anywhere fast...

Re: Any news on the Tattoo 22?

My :mac19: is almost ready for the unveiling. Tomorrow I take it from the fiberglass shop to the motor installer. Console is installed. Motor bracket installed to get it back from the transom. I will post pictures once the motor is on there, hopefully in a week or two. My plan is to use the motor to...

Re: Any news on the Tattoo 22?

I am afraid you are right. I am spending WAY too much money getting my :mac19: updated. I have a new 40 hp motor on the way. In the process of finding a small console for wheel steering. I drew the line at 10k for a carbon mast. It is probably going to cost me more getting this :mac19: right than wh...

Re: model 19 rudders

The hobie rudders work better than the original rudders on the :mac19:
They do require a bit of modification (cutting) to fit and rise properly.
You will also need something to go in there with the rudder to account for the difference in thickness. I used a piece of wood with a hole drilled in it.

Re: Repowering Options June 2020 Evinrude leaves outboard business, confirmed

NNNOOOOOOOO! Just my luck I just repowered with an E-tec last year. I love the way it has performed so far. Just as I loved the Evinrude I had on my boat since the mid 90's. What is this world coming to??? What will they put on the new :tat22: if they ever build it? They were going to use E-tec.

Re: Any news on the Tattoo 22?

I was feeling lucky so I went on the Tattoo web page to look for any updates. I did not see any. Then, I clicked on the Facebook link at the bottom, and It said I could not see this page. Has anyone else had this problem? I hope it is down while they update something, and that this is not the beginn...
