Re: Electrical problem

Think I got it solved. Thank you for calling attention to a grounding issue. Battery is wired for two via a 1-2-off switch, but I'm only using one. Neg cable to non-existent second battery was just dangling loose but still connected to neg terminal on existing battery so must have been grounding out...

Electrical problem

Had a scary incident today on the :macm: , just powering along but gps kept losing power, kept turning it back on, then holy crap, it started smoking! Got the wife to turn off the fuse switch and disconnected it then and there but then on way back the 90 HP Etec tach gauge would lose power and reset...

Re: Raising mast with furler attached + MRS

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Some pretty ingenious methods here, wow! I will try to shorten the stays a bit and see if it helps to start.

Raising mast with furler attached + MRS

Been having difficulty raising the mast with furling Genoa using the MRS. Mast would swing sideways so much I would have to hold the rope to try and keep it centered. Seems very heavy with furling foresail attached and I keep trying to place the Genoa on one side or the other to see how it affects i...

Re: bump from trailer when towing

Yes, to clarify, trailer has no brakes, which is not a problem, just want the coupler and actuator system to stop sliding and making a 'bump' when towing (especially when doing the "Mac bump to move the boat closer to trailer end, the boat always slips out a few inches right after leaving the w...

Re: bump from trailer when towing

Thanks again for all the replies, links and info. I downloaded the manual, better info than the original Buddy manual I have on the tongue, must have been updated after, and looked at the vid on the lockout bracket. Have just checked out the forum topic link (again) and need to more thouroughly insp...

Re: bump from trailer when towing

Not sure what the "locking tab in the slide hole" is, can you explain? ( can't see one on the trailer and not mentioned in the manual as far as I can tell) thanx for all the replies and help, still quite a newby to all this...

Re: bump from trailer when towing

That's what I was thinking, just bolt/weld on a new coupler minus the actuator, less parts, simpler, less stuff to break/maintain/rust, especially since no trailer laws here, small country and pretty flat terrain.

Re: bump from trailer when towing

Thanx for the replies. Good to know that bump is not only in my case. Read the actuator manual this morning so will try to disable it with the pin so it doesn't slide. Or I could just live with it I suppose, now that I know it's 'normal'. :) No plans to fix the breaks on it, they' were stripped out ...

bump from trailer when towing

Have trailered my 2006 26M a few times since buying it in summer and noticed a pronounced bump from the trailer whenever starting or stopping, seems to be more happen more when trailer is wet. If I pull out or brake very very slowly then no bump happens. It's the original steel trailer but brake act...

Blue water yachts gives that information on the website Parts List. (can't get it to work at this moment but will try later and post the info)

Re: After you first got your Mac, what was the first thing y

Just bought a 2006 M a few weeks ago, trailered her home & on the way bought new light truck tires (60 psi) to replace the original tires that were very bouncy, the high psi tires virtually eliminated the bouncing (and my white knuckles), especially in the 45 C UAE heat. Since then have been for...
