Inside Stand-up Shower Setup on 26M

We cruise year round and even in Florida it gets chilly taking a shower in the cockpit on a cool day. We worked out a great system on our New Year's trip to setup a temporary shower inside the boat. The video shows two versions. The first one would have worked great but the pop up shower enclosure w...

Re: Purchase Inspection Checklist 26M

1st Sail, Great advice on the purchase procedures and I was not familiar with the Boat US services. It is always good to have an expert on your side.

Re: Purchase Inspection Checklist 26M

That was pretty thorough Steve. Can't really think of anything to add. I will say this though, I'm patiently awaiting new videos from you and Brandy on Youtube. (hint hint) I have to be a Youtube sailor in the winter months. Yes, we have been talking about getting some new videos out. We got really...

Purchase Inspection Checklist 26M

One of our YouTube viewers sent me an email asking about what to inspect as he was looking to put an offer in on a Mac 26M. I put together this quick list and thought I would share. I am sure I missed items, so please add on. I also recommended he use a surveyor if this was a more expensive boat and...

Re: New Mac / Tattoo 23Ft concept boat

I talked to the Venture 23 founders at the Annapolis show yesterday. They are very passionate about the idea and building a good boat. The boat designer has several successful small sail and power boats overseas. I was wrong about them planning to produce them in China. They actually plan to build t...

Re: New Mac / Tattoo 23Ft concept boat

Have not heard the price yet, but I will talk with them while we are at the Annapolis show this week. My brother knows the owner who is the manufacturer of the West Rite Potters. He recently shipped the molds to China and will manufacture all the boats there and ship globally. This is probably the o...

New Mac / Tattoo 23Ft concept boat

Just saw this new boat company advertising they plan to be at the Annapolis show with a 23ft power sailer. Looks very Macgregor / Tattoo like. https://www.facebook.com/Ventura-Sport-Boats-325008917890832/ Not clear if they plan to have a boat or model of the boat at the show, likely a model seeking ...

Interview with 26M Cruising Family

We just released a new episode of our podcast, The Sailing Rode, featuring an interview with the Radonic family who did some extensive cruising around Canada, New York, and Nova Scotia in their Macgregor 26M. This family covered some serious miles in their M26. You can listen here http://www.thesail...

Sunset Pics

My favorite picture of our boat. My awesome girlfriend took it during a recent trip to the Ponce Inlet area of Florida. We were at a restaurant dock about to leave to go find our anchorage. I was engaged in a discussion about the boat (26M) and our cruising trips with some tourists. I did not even n...

Re: I sold my 26M... :( small cockpit didn't workout for me.

The cockpit is challenging. Works fine up to four people and the optional stern rail seats help, but we do miss the cockpit we had on the Mac 25. Flip that tiller up and had lots of room.

Re: Back To Mac

Great Video! Now I have to go buy a drone, thanks, there goes $1300. I have been thinking of getting a Splash drone, totally waterproof. Rick Moore does some awesome HD videos with one in the BVIs. You will have a blast with the 26M. Yours looks like it is in great condition. Enjoy! Steve - The Sail...

Re: Benefits of the 25 Vs. the 26 (S,D) Classic

the headroom in the 25 was a lot better for me at 6' tall. That said, one of the main reasons we bought the 26M was the rear berth. We stay on the boat over 30 nights a year and liked not having to put the table down to sleep. I recommend to try to go see the 26s/d and the 25 the same day or as clos...

Re: Benefits of the 25 Vs. the 26 (S,D) Classic

We owned the 25 before our 26M and really enjoyed it. I thought it sailed great and was very comfortable. I looked at a 26S before buying the 26M, but it felt very small inside even with the full rear berth. The 25 has a higher headroom than the 26s/d so it feels a lot bigger. We also removed the ki...
