Re: Wildfire near our marina

Sure hope your boat comes through it ok, and they can get the fire controlled without further loss of life.

NiceAft wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 3:06 pm Jim, I understand all of that. Without rereading, I think it was stated the air is dried by the unit..

Psychrometrics is a field that is often misunderstood. Stating that a heater is “drying” air has always made my blood run cold.

But, it probably only matters to me, so sure…

Re: diesel air heater (100.--), who installed?

Thanks for the detailed info Jeff. Third time: how warm does it get in the cabin during those cool nights? Inquiring minds want to know. :D Ray, Depends on the thermostat setting. Most of those units will have enough capacity to easily heat a Mac to comfortable temps. The Wallas, and the Chinese di...

Re: Attitude change on reefing

There is an anemometer at one of the yacht clubs near two of our go-to ramps. I can check actual wind speed before getting out in it (parking lots where I rig are somewhat protected by trees). Both the furling main and the big Genoa can be hard to manage if it’s really sporty out and you’re under fu...

Great posts Ray! Thanks for sharing! Sorry you’re having technical difficulties posting pics, but a great report nonetheless.

Hope to see some pics of your AC setup when you get a chance.

Sounds like a great trip!

Re: It's in the water!

Tell me more about this valve? I wonder if that's what was going on? The gas tank I have does have a vent tho I think. Pretty sure it's this one https://i.postimg.cc/5Q9ZqsZ5/tank.jpg The new fuel tanks only allow air into the tank. This can result in an over-pressure condition on carburetor engine...
