Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025
Sounds like the trailer bunks can be easily crossed off - for the near term. I hope you can come up with a really solid temporary fix for your broken cable. I haven’t seen it done before, so I’m interested to see what you come up with. You’ve always got the kill switch and an anchor if it goes bad. :D

Re: Sliding galley sell or toss?
It’s easy to remove in one piece. Four nuts on the inside, bottom of the unit is all it takes to remove it from the slides. It’s light enough to get out by yourself. Someone may want it. When I did my galley mod, I kept my original in case the next owner wants to go back to the original setup. But, ...

Re: 2 battery setup
I just purchased my 26M Wind Dancer. It came with a 2 battery setup. Traditionally, is the one on the left side (facing aft) of the compartment the starter engine and the right one house? Larry, In my boat it is. But, my wiring uses an off, 1, 2, both switch, with all loads served by the battery se...

Re: Repower and Repair or Sell?
My approach is to get one guy outside with a hose and one guy inside with a flashlight, going over the topsides in “likely spots”. Go one spot at a time, being patient. You can use baby powder in the bilge to help highlight drip paths. Paper towel, or toilet tissue can be used, also. Stanchions, por...

Re: Repower and Repair or Sell?
Sounds like you are describing my boat, I just use it that way… Excellent point. A small kicker, good sails, and a bleach/pressure wash of the stripped interior would put it back on the water in better condition than several boats in our club. Picking one or two projects a year is a way to eat the ...

Re: Repower and Repair or Sell?
Is it worth the investment? Thoughts or suggestions? Not $15-20k. You could find a better boat for that kind of money; and be on the water much quicker. Having said that, the reality of boating is; if it’s not brand new, you’re going to need to spend money and time on it. So, your hands are going t...

Re: bow eye repair
Sounds like you’ve got quite the adventure ahead! Good luck with it. Can you tell what kind of shape your bow eye is in? I’ve see stainless corrode away to nothing where it’s buried in fiberglass. It would be good to check it if you can’t already tell from where it’s moved. Glad you’re getting back ...

Re: Wiring Up an Anchor Light on the 26M
Diodes came and I noodled through a plan to finish up the outside work. Soldered the connections together, then potted them in clear 5 minute epoxy. https://i.postimg.cc/w1yRyMVF/IMG-3483.jpg A few minutes in, I was reminded that a thick blob of epoxy gets really hot. So, finished the cure under wat...

Re: Adding LiON to existing system
Whelp... I connected the main bank to the output side of the DC to DC and everything works fine again. I still can't imagine how the DC to DC just boosted my LION to 16+V... would mean that the LION should be accepting a charge from the DC to DC that had no independent power source? Great! Glad it’...

Re: Adding LiON to existing system
Thanks Bill, I read about the common ground and that's how the final system will work. It was really odd to have a 12V battery in front of me and a DC charger with no power source or other connections, and find 15.7 volts at the battery terminals. It actually climbed up past 16 volts at one point, ...
