And since I'm new here, I'll refrain from going on a rant about the idiocy of adding ethanol to gasoline.

I always thought it was worth noting that on Lake Michigan, a "Small craft advisory" means boats less than 120 feet long.

My suggestion before considering spending any money anywhere is to hit up all of the local boat dealers and see if someone has a trailer that can be adapted to work. The bad news is that to get a really nice $1000 trailer you might have to drag it away with a rotting hulk of a boat on the top of it ...

I'd suggest investigating some local clubs , either Power Squadron if any are around, or local sailing/motoring clubs and just find someone who you can ply with beer after the fact. Knowing someone with a truck is priceless if you get some damage on a Saturday and need to haul the boat pronto.
