What year is your motor ?
Thank You
-Dennis
P.S> In my area, Suzuki is quite common along with Yamaha. Hondas are scarce, but I've learned how to do most things myself (with the help of YouTube). Boats.net has been my go to source for motor parts over the years and delivery has been quick.

Max26x Repower: Suzuki DF60A vs DF60AV
I've been reading various posts on repowering a Mac 26X :macx: and settled on a Suzuki DF60AV(High Thrust), but when went to place an order the dealer is telling me I don't want the DF60AV and should get the standard DF60A due to reliability, more prop options, and other issues. Does anyone have dir...

Anchor Bow Roller and renforcments
I'm planning to sail the Fl keys in the spring for ~ a month and doing lots of upgrades to get ready. One of my big upgrades is around my anchor setup as I'll likely be solo and want to be able to sleep at night.. Like most things, I've been overthinking this setup for the past year or so, but here ...

Re: Pulpit mount nav light for 2000 26X
This thread has been about the bow nav light, but what have people been doing about the stern (white) nav light. The original one is in a perfect place for people to grab when they climb the ladder and I've had to redo it a few times and its broken now. I'm exploring getting a rear arch made so I ha...

Re: rewiring mast head light
When I did mine, I prebuilt a wiring harness(with good quality marine grade wire) so I could have led masthead, Steaming, and a spotlight on my foredeck as well as rig a masthead UHF antenna. I replace the standard Macgregor plastic switch plate in the boat and made a new one out of a 4" wide p...

Nicro Solar Vent Overhaul - New Motor/Battery for $30
I posted this on the MODs website, but I think this is a better place for people to find it. Like many people, I have Nicro Day/Night Solar vents on my boat and after 4-5 yrs they fail. As they can run 24x7, that's not unexpected. Nicro used to sell an overhaul kit with new batter/motor but no longe...

Re: Pulpit mount nav light for 2000 26X
I ordered one of these https://www.catalinadirect.com/shop-by-boat/catalina-380390/electrical/navigation-lights/navigation-light-bracket-ss-clamp-on/ and adjusted the mount so I could mount it forward of the rail so it would not get in the way of the mast holder. Then ran wires thru the pulpit and m...

What are the secrets to running new wire on a 26x
I've acquired a 1996 26x and looking to run new electrical wire as the existing DC 12v wiring is a mess. I'm new to MacGregor's so what are the tricks to run wire behind the shell ? I can see where they tuck it under the lip on the sides, but how do you run new wire up the mast area or other areas ?...

Re: Where and How to mount dual Batteries on a 26x
Thanks for all the responses. Any chance I could bother some of you for additional pictures ? I'm specifically interested in how you mount/secured the batteries forward as well as in the more traditional locations. Did you built a platform to put the batteries on ? How are they secured to the boat ?...

Where and How to mount dual Batteries on a 26x
I'm a new owner of a 1996 :macx: and in the process of getting it back in shape. One of the projects is to rewire the boat and I'm wanting to add a dual battery system. I understand the electrical aspects, but unsure exactly where and how to mount the 2nd battery. I've found lots of references to th...
