Re: What shall we call a gathering of Macs??

(But given the propensity for Scott’s to get together we could get a really interesting collection of people together in kilts looking for a good caber toss, hammer throw, and stone put, along with Highland dancing, bagpipe music, and ….. well ya’ll get the idea. :D ) Best Regards, Over Easy 8) 8) ...

Re: What would happen if I fell overboard? (Single handing)

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet: Kill switch! Kill switch! My sails are rigged with slight weather helm, so that if I do fall overboard (which I shouldn't, since I'm tethered in when I'm by myself), the boat will eventually round to irons. Since I was also wearing the kill switch clipped to m...

Re: MacGregor Sailing Accident - Safety Reminder

Just to mention another partial ballast situation . . . This only happened to me once, but I forgot to put the stopper valve back in to the front of the V-berth after filling the ballast. I had opened the ballast valve and removed the stopper upon arrival at a dock, and then immediately gone for a s...

Re: Comfort onboard

These are great:

I tried a cheaper version, but you could feel the metal frame through the cushions. These were a little pricier, but they were SO much more comfortable than the cheaper versions.

Command Hook cord bundlers in the cockpit for dealing with halyards and sheets: https://www.command.com/3M/en_US/p/d/cobnaw017036/ I have one at the front of the cockpit around 1 foot beneath each winch on the port and starboard side, and one of the front of my steering pedestal. It gives me a very ...

The YouTube Channel "Emily and Clark's Adventure" has been doing a series of tear-downs and reviews of cheaper LiFePO4 batteries. You can find the playlist at: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsT7_jPsZM5oBrAk5fXebX2hf7opdMeZU&si=_TT_6kuSOBcbM5Tt Also, Clark is a retired electrical e...

boating while still rigged for trailering

I love my :macx: , but one of my frustrations is when I want to go out on the water for just a couple of hours. There is a great freshwater lake near where I live, and it's a nice half-hour trip up one side of the lake to a public dock with a nice swim area and beach. The problem is that I don't wan...

alternative to rudder bolts

I have a '99 :macx: , and every couple of years I need to replace my rudder bolts. These are the bolts that I leave in while trailering, and they have either become so corroded that I can no longer remove the nuts by hand, or they have bounced enough that the bolts themselves have become slightly be...

I would go to the Mods section of the website and do a search for "storage". You'll find lots of ideas that you can implement.

Cheers,

PSA Fire Warning for M Owners

Hey all, I don't remember if I posted this earlier in the summer or not. This August, one of our MYCBC members found his :macm: filled with smoke. The culprit? The sun hitting the mirror mounted on the side of the head had reflected onto a cushion, melting the rubber: https://youtu.be/c1hHt_iQ5ww?si...
