Re: Cockpit Decking
[/https://photos.app.goo.gl/2oi7LqyidD4dzo5X8img] I don’t know if this link will work to my pic, but I can only access the transom area of my boat for boarding from my slip. The floating dock can get very active (up and down from wave action) and I have to keep the boat tied a safe distance to preve...

Re: Cockpit Decking
Rich, thanks for filling in the gap;) Yes, that is the mod I was referring to, and the ‘steering’ refers to the linkage around the engine/drain Well area. The deck design shown eliminates the transition step. I keep my boat backed into a slip and it’s a pain to board because you have to step around ...

Cockpit Decking
Reaching out to the forum for some more mod advice. I really like the wood deck pictured in the mod section that eliminates the need to step around the steering when boarding. I sent an email to the author but have not received a response. Has anyone else added this mod? From the pictures ,he is obv...

Gooseneck Mast slider
A friend noticed my current fixed boom height doesn’t allow my main to go full height. He recommended I look into getting a gooseneck mast slider. Raising the mast would also allow me to sail with Bimini in place. Does anyone use this set up? If so, would you happen to have a source for one that fit...

Looking for Mac's on Smith Mountain Lake, VA
Just curious if there are any other Mac sailors in our neck of the woods? My wife and I are both school teachers and have dreams of attempting a trailer down to explore the Florida Keys some day. Still learning the ropes and working out the kinks on our new to us 26X

Optimum Propeller 26X - 50 hp Yamaha
I'm sure this topic has been covered, but have struggled to find info particular to my question through search. I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with prop sizes/pitch/# of blades to find the optimum "all around' best prop for a 50 hp 4-stroke set-up. I need to take my boat out to collec...

Re: New Mast
It's been a while since I have been on / posted - but much appreciation to Heath for his willingness to keep this site up and running - I was one of the one's going 'bonkers' when it crashed.
Again, much thanks!

Re: Newbie Introduction and questions 1999 26X
Thank you for the replies - anxious to get started on this adventure. My wife and I joined an 'inland sailing association' in our area, so hopefully we will have a lot of patient teachers to help us get started. As for the pizza, I will let you know the next time I'm in Florida:)

Newbie Introduction and questions 1999 26X
Hello, My wife and I are brand new to sailing and to MacGregor ownership. We live in Central Virginia and recently purchased a 1999 26X that included the 99 and up upgrades (steering, repositioned ballast breather, improved room in aft birth, etc). I was wondering if there is a resource that consoli...
