Re: diesel air heater (100.--), who installed?

I installed one in my Sprinter. Not sure I'd stick one in my :macx: The exhaust runs hot and personally I'd want to mount it outside of the cabin.

Re: Jackplate on a M19?

When I upgraded the motor to the 4stroke 40hp Mercury Command Thrust I added a manual jackplate that gave it a 10" setback. I needed this so the motor (which has tilt and trim) would clear the rudder linkage when tilting. Newer 4 stroke motors are taller and heavier than the older 2 strokes. Mo...

Re: 26x Transom and Mercury 60hp big foot 2.33 question

..... His recommendation was to have the engine mounted so that the anti-cavitation plate was planning along on top of the water at WOT.... Speaking with my tech the "ideal" starting point, especially with using a bracket or lift plate, is 3.5" between the pad of the boat and centerl...

Mast Caps?

Someone asked in another of my posts why I'm not 3d printing and offering mast caps. Well, to be honest the time to print a quality cap that can withstand the sun and a marine environment is cost prohibitive. And... I don't wat to offer a product that my fail. But it got me thinking... Why not use t...

Re: Will someone with a CNC cutter

Well looks like your the go to guy for 3d printing. Holy cow multiple printers, care to take orders from members for a mast head cap? Still can't find anyone to print a one off in Kansas City. Krum I think the reluctance is that most filaments aren't UV stable and breakdown quickly in the elements....

Re: Will someone with a CNC cutter

How much would it cost to make the patterns and cut that foam out? Maybe the pattern cost could be baked into the product cost over time. No clue, Since I have both an :macx: and a :mac19: I'll pattern both once we get a snow melt. Draw them up and try a test cut for one. Most likely the :mac19: fi...

Re: Will someone with a CNC cutter

Well.... I do have a CNC router in the basement. I can currently do 4' x 6 ' x 6" I am in the process of doing some maintenance and upgrades so it'll be down for about a month. was also planning on sizing it down to 4' x 3' x 6" to save some workspace in the basement. I built this because,...

Re: hull dolly

OK, somewhat off-topic, but this thread reminds me of a bizarre dream in which I and my brother were in a sailboat on a dolly, being blown about in a deserted parking lot. We did have some sailing misadventures back in the day, but I think the dream was triggered by seeing dinghies being displayed ...

Gear choices

Ok I know Im cutting it close but I'm thinking about getting the Admiral some gear for Christmas. I'm thinking sailing bib and new auto-inflate life jacket. Currently we don't wear any sailing gear at all. We do have rain gear and a couple of sets of Mustang auto-inflates. Suggestions welcome...

Re: hull dolly

... Winsome’s idea seems more reasonable; why do you need to move the boat around instead of just zipping around under it :?: I need to do some glass work on the bottom of the hull. I'd like to take the trailer and have it sand blasted and a second axle added while I'm working on the hull. Speaking...
