Re: Adios

Interior space is actually larger. The cabin is wider and over 6 foot headroom from port to starboard. The helm seat flip forward to give you 2 feet more of galley countertop. The head is larger and.... a shower !! the step down v berth is spacious and allows for 2 couches during the day. The quarte...

Re: Adios

My ad is still up. I did craigslist also. The new owner came from craigslist. I did spend saturdays, at the harbor, waiting to show it. Finally parked it on the street at home so I didn't waste time in between "customers"

Re: Adios

I joked a bit about going to a Ranger tug in the MMOR IV thread, but truth be told, if I had to move to a power boat, the Rangers would be on the short list, for sure, though probably not the 21 I posted. http://i456.photobucket.com/albums/qq285/TKanzler/R21p1.jpg Especially the R-25SC (below). 8) ...

Re: Adios

Thanks all, I will check in. Looking at 2 used Ranger Tugs next weekend a 2009 and 2010. Its like the old X vs M argument. The cockpit sized increased by 16 inches in 2010, so we want to look at both of them. My wife noted that the cabin sized decreased by 16 inches so everything is a tradeoff.

My Mac 26X sold last week, and I am actively looking for a Ranger Tug 25. Arthritis forced the sale of the Wildest Dream and now its on to a power boat. I have been on this list since 2001 and have enjoyed the content and characters that this site provided. My wife and I fondly remember the San Juan...

Re: Help! Travelift lauch/retrieve...how to?

I used to belong to the Channel Islands Yacht Club and we put on a training class for new sailors to the area. I will look for the 20 page handout on anchoring, weather and location to visit.

A note to moderators. If I can scan it and supply a pdf can it get put into the resources ????

Re: Help! Travelift lauch/retrieve...how to?

Best months for the channel Aug - October. Our boats are perfect for the channel islands. The weather picks up or the fog rolls in, the motor will get you out of trouble. Can power back to the coast within an hour

Re: Help! Travelift lauch/retrieve...how to?

At my storage place, Channel Islands Landing, it is hoisted out with full ballast and the valve closed. They feel they are avoiding issues if any remaining ballast would shift and slosh around. When it is placed on the trailer, they open the valve and the ballast drains out as they tow it back to th...

Re: Backing a 26X into a narrow slip!

Stand in front of the pedestal and drive in in stern first. The movement of the wheel is true and the throttle movement is correct for travel. Try this on some docks and you will see its easy...point the stern and the bow follows and tracks true. Learned this from posts years ago on this site. oh ye...
