Re: Cheap Electronic Water Bladder Level Meter

Great Idea!
(now I need a water bladder holding tank so I can make this device)

Looking to make a fuel flow monitor.. so I can track mpg/fuel burn etc.. on an Carb'ed merc. Only problem is its HARD HARD to find an appropriate flow sensor with the correct/needed range...

Re: Weird Pole on my Boom?

Mine is spring loaded... Dowsar sails make one (cheaper one) for the 26M specifically. BWYachts are DEAD against using one... Not sure if I should remove it.. pin the mast from rotating and leave it... From what I hear the rotating mast does not do much for performance increase.. after talking to pe...

Re: Anybody recognize this interior mod (26M)?

One mod I saw was a 26m that walled off the rear 1/4 berth.. and incorporated a swing out ladder.. VERY cool looking.. (I think they even used light weigh materials ).
Was VERY VERY nice..

I found the photo online.. might be someone from here.. not sure. (if it is.. NICE job)

Re: Weird Pole on my Boom?

Here is what I am wondering about.... 1) Dowsar sails sells a Boom Kicker... so they are made SPECIFICALLY for the 26M 2) BWYachts say it DOES NOT work as intended on a 26M.. a boom kicker.. or rigid vang will push on the base of the mast and make it rotate to one side.. or the other.. messed up all...

Re: Weird Pole on my Boom?

Just wondering...
I have a 2007 26M, with a VERY similar modification
I have a Rigid vang installed.

But my mast is set up NOT to rotate.. does your mast still rotate with this modification?

Re: killing zebra mussels in ballast tanks

As far as the ballast tank, the Mac owners manual states that if your in a marina, and do not flush the ballast regularly that you should drop in a couple of pucks of pool chlorine to keep the algae down. I would assume that this process would also get ride of the Zebra Muscles as well, and not harm...

Re: rear view mirror that attaches to a round stanchion

Get a Multifunction Axiom 12 Pro display, and a CAM210 day/night camera (rear pointed) and you will not have to worry about a mirror..
Simple!

Re: 28 Newton Meters too much lower unit oil drain?

As well, if your boat is in a climate where it freezes all winter.. (ie: me in Canada) Consider changing the oil prior to the freeze.. just incase there is water in the system.. it should emulsify but can still solidify if its cold enough, not good. If you live in a warm area.. yup.. change in sprin...

Re: 28 Newton Meters too much lower unit oil drain?

i thought that the marine oils have special additives that are not present in automotive oils. The additives are designed to emulsify water, unlike automotive oils/etc. So for engine oils you really NEED a NMMA FC-W certification to be "water" safe. This is NOT available in Royal Purple products . R...

Re: 28 Newton Meters too much lower unit oil drain?

Even having worked at one of the big 3 in Quality Control, they speck their oil pan torque as 12-25 ft lbs.. The rundown machine is "very flexible" as to a "good torque rundown". (ie.. just so it does not leak is enough.. and not to strip out the threads) Its not an very specific torque(for automoti...
