18-24” above the forestay tang is where most folks put the spinnaker halyard tang. Sounds like that’s what it was for. That’s pretty high up for an asym though. That's what I'm thinking too. Pretty high up there... The PO has no idea, as to what those holes are for, he is not aware of any hardware ...

I was thinking those options as well, but it is a through hole, so there is a hole on either side of the mast which makes me think, that there was a tang once for a spinnaker or something. Hoe critical is the location of the tang for an asym when measuring from the masthead? Could I use this locatio...

Hello All. I noticed that the mast on my 26S has a through hole about 2 ft below the mast head on the front side of the mast. Could this be for a spinnaker halyard? I know to fly an asym, you're supposed to put a tang with a block about 18-24" above the head stay tang, but this one is up much h...
