Re: My Macgregor Journey

Welcome a broad. I think the 25 is one of the best looking Macs. Looking forward to hearing more about the new adventure. Best wishes and feel free to ask around.

Re: To Boomkicker or not

For me the boomkicker is a nice upgrade from topping lift. The topping lift was something I had to get out of the cockpit and adjust on my mast. The boomkicker just works. I got the bwyachts package for my 26X. Took an hour to install. You need a drill bit to drill into the aluminum boom Ill say it...

Re: trailer tire not holding pressure

Simiarlyl Herschel had a "chinese-special" trailer-king tire blow out on my trailer 3mi from the exit to home on last trip. I didnt know they were crappy tires only 4 years old and well cared for. The shop i took to replacement said he has all kinds of similar stories. Same stories online ...

Re: Standing rigging check 09’ 26M

Agree w above. The standing rigging failure is catostrophic and so all single-points-of-failure on it need to be in perfect condition. I just upgraded to the bwyachts upsized forestay and it was measured perfectly by them and was a breeze to install thru my Flexfurler.

Re: Centerboard Klunk Revisited, plus cable idea ... ?

I only get CB klunk when I leave it down at anchor or the dock and its a reminder to pull it up. I was advised to never leave it down at anchor or marina and I think thats fairly standard practice now. Early this year I replaced my stainless steel CB hanger and pin and studied the system for awhile....
