Re: Installing new LiFePo4 200ah battery
Also went lithium for the house bank 4 years ago. Renogy has a dc-dc 50 amp dual charger that is very neet. It's a single unit, it isolates your lead starting battery, it will take current from both the alternator and solar to a max of 50 amps combined, and will trickle charge the starter battery fr...

26M headsail measurments
Hi all, Don't have access to my boat right now. I'm trying to find the correct measurments for the mainsail of the 26M. I'm finding conflicting information and the sail loft is arguing with me. From what I understand, the 26M has a 2 foot higher mast, the 26X has a luff of 25.some feet, and the 26M ...

Re: raising 26m mast without raising pole
Thanks for the replies. The pole does make sense, I've never thought of leaving it in the car! That solves that problem. I want to know people's opinions on hank on vs roller furler for the jib. I have the flat top main, so I my thinking is the jib is the better option for me. It feels like I'm bett...

Re: raising 26m mast without raising pole
It just feels like another heavy piece to carry arround! We're a family of 3 kids, and the mac is great for us, but I'm tired of sleeping with extra gear!

raising 26m mast without raising pole
Hi, I'm considering ditching the raising pole. I know some members don't use it and use a line lead back to a winch. Does anyone have experience doing this? I plan to not use the furler and go hank on jib for simplicity. Just trying to find out if the simplicity of not having to use the pole beats o...

Re: Is the M right for my family?
Adding on to the pile! We have a family of 5 (kids are 7, 5 and 2). The M is a great boat for us. We keep it in the driveway, keeps costs down. We pack it up at home all ready to go. If we go out for a weekend, we don't bring the mast along, launching takes me 15 minutes at most before calling back ...

Re: A/C that runs off a battery...
I use the Zero Breeze in my Mac26m. It's a mini compressor AC unit, about 2500 btus, has it's own lithium battery, has dual hoses for air exchange to the outside, very easy to use. It works very well to take the edge off at night, we can get quite a few degrees down. https://www.zerobreeze.com/produ...

Re: Hello, and GPS
Before you buy something expensive, try open CPN on your phone. The macs are small boats and adding large screens everywhere tends to remove a lot of sight lines in my opinion. Open CPN is free, you'll be able to download the official marine charts. You can fiddle around with it, and it might help y...

Re: Great Lakes/Canadian Laws vs. Thru-hull grey water
Also, you won't find a more up to date law on the subject! It is 12 years old, but that's the way Ontario does things! The way we've always done it!

Re: Great Lakes/Canadian Laws vs. Thru-hull grey water
Right now, if you have a composting toilet and want to follow the law, you should have a urine diverter going to a tank with a pump out port. I personally don't have one, and never had any trouble with the regulators, we just store the urine and dump in a toilet on shore. I'm pretty sure if you get ...

Re: Great Lakes/Canadian Laws vs. Thru-hull grey water
Here is the law in Ontario. It specifically says discharging running water is fine. It's sewage that can't go overboard.

Re: Lithium (LiFePO4) Battery Build
For the ac, I recommmend the zero breeze II. It will run on your lifepo4 bank with a 24v converter. It's super light and small. That's what we do. I can get quite a few degrees down on the small macgregor with it.https://www.zerobreeze.com/products/zero-breeze-mark-2?variant=29542713688166&gclid...
