Re: Really Entry Level Sail Boats

Re: MacGregor Sailing Accident - Safety Reminder
I have a 1995 x and it has two ballast fill valves one on the stern and one on the bottom of the hull . The one under the hull I never use . But if I did need to fill ballast in rough conditions thats the one to use if the waves are up. Do the later model x and The M boats have an under the hull val...

Re: Have you ever had the itch to sell your 26M/X and buy a "true" sailboat?
As a long time Hobiecat sailor with the love of sailing fast it is an adjustment to a slow mono hull like my X That said most all non cats sailboats are slow. What I wanted was a sailing vessel I could camp in , pull up to the shore, motor around when there is no wind. I remember the 1 st year I saw...

Re: Fuel Line Broken
On my :macx: I replaced my fuel line with automotive fuel line and it works fine . The problem I am having this time is my squeeze ball I purchased from Tohatsu Macanic . It locks up and does not let fuel pass to the motor to start or run. The one before this squeeze ball I purchased from academy it...

Re: Blew up my previous best by a mile!
To be honest one has to be a little insane to hits speeds above 6 knots on our Macgregors . I was doing the Texas 200 running back to my trailer at our finish line . The wind at my stern end of the day was gusting 25 plus . Then I was forced to run to shore (turn the motor on) as the win hit 40 knot...

Re: Rudder up and downhaul
https://i.postimg.cc/JsznjtVn/IMG-0042.jpg The jam cleat shown works to release the line when it hits shallow water or objects come in contact. Jim brown taught me this in one of his videos. Simply drill out the bottom of the cleat just the size of the rope’s diameter, when the rudder hits the bott...

Re: Rudder up and downhaul
I have a year 95 one of the fist 100 hulls . I really like the set up although the rudders need replacing and it pricey. Heres how they are set up now.
