Re: New Tow Vehicle

Hi Piddle and Futz! Nice choice for an electric truck! I’ve heard/read some really good reports on Rivian! Would love to here your own experiences with your new ride and the towing capabilities… things like: How far do you tow? What kind of actual range when towing do you get? What’s the acceleratio...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025

Hi All! We got out on Saturday afternoon for a good 4 hours! Weather was actually better than expected too! Down the Beaufort River to Cat Island Cut… the haul over bar has shifted some from last season though… gets shallow REAL QUICK on either side of the entry channel! Wandered around the left and...

Re: Gel coat again…

Hi Herschel! Whoa! Thanks for the heads up about the rain pooling! Didn’t expect that!!! :o :o :o :o :? :? I’m sorry to hear about your damage… but love your fix! I’ll have to keep an eye on the weather… I was concerned with wind issues so I tied it to the trailer overnight to keep it in place…not r...

Re: ARGO Channel Marker Article

Hi Ray! Nice! Thanks for sharing! Good write up! Around here in SC we tread carefully outside the marked bout routes. There are some shoals that are fine at high tide but by the time low tide arrives even an 18” draft Mac26 with the motor, keel and rudders up will scrape, bounce and probably general...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025

Hi All! Still piecemeal working through the full refurbishment of the boat trailer. Nearly done with the frame U-bolts. Three to go. I’ve been using a die grinder with a cutoff wheel to cut the U of the U-bolts as there’s not enough purchase left on any of the nuts to turn! :x :P ( but enough to not...

Re: Is Full Throttle BAD For Outboards?

Hi All! WOT or NotWOT. That is the question…. :| Think of the engine like a bucket, engine speed like holes in the bucket and the fluid level like the useful horsepower life of the engine. The more holes (engine speed and hence horsepower) you make the faster the fluid leaks out and the shorter the ...

Of course there’s hockey in the desert! They just play on the tops of those flat sandstone mesas on roller blades…… :D :D Played golf out there once and hitting it into the rough was quite a unique experience watching as the ball ricocheted off the boulders and rocks…. After my parterre when out to ...

Thought this was an interesting bit…. Given that we’re talking about trailer security… Asked AI the question “ What states have the highest utility trailer thefts?” The reply: AI Overview While there's no definitive ranking of states with the highest utility trailer thefts, several states consistent...

Re: Caught in a New Mexico Storm!

Hi Fittsfly! Glad you weathered the storm in one piece (albeit a bit less for the damaged canvas). I’ve been in some bad weather situations in the past. The worst we’ve been in was 4 ft waves and 30 knot winds due in Port Royal Sound and the Broad River Basin. A rapidly shifting frontal system drama...
