Re: New Boat/Travel Refrigerator Suggestions for 2026
Hi Be Free! Great write up! Nicely done! Most of the stuff I’ve had the opportunity to deal with in regard to commercial recreational consumer products are ‘native’ 12 VDC as it’s the most common source of power and suitable for most of the sourced sub components readily available. Even with the wid...

Re: Marina slip fees increasing?
Yes! Marina fees here have gone up by about $60/month over last year! :o :? :| It’s still worth having a slip as it really makes it much more convenient not having to deal with all the logistics of getting to the ramp, launching, parking the trailer, retrieving the trailer, loading, clean-up and get...

Re: New Boat/Travel Refrigerator Suggestions for 2026
Hi All! Thanks for the suggestions so far. Please keep them coming! They are appreciated Hi FittFly! :D :D The thermoelectric is a little different than the camper unit you described. Our was one that could use 115VAC/12VDC/ propane. We had that type in our camper as well… it was nice because it wou...

Re: Mac advice - N. Houston / Spring / Conroe
Hi Jolly Dodger, strange is right! An engine boom lift /cherry pick is what I used to lift my old Tohatsu 50 hp off of our Mac26X when we we’re transitioning to our new Suzuki DF60AV a couple of years ago. Two bolts are in the motor well and two bolts are underneath in the aft berth. I found it usef...

New Boat/Travel Refrigerator Suggestions for 2026
Hi All! It time for a new boat/travel refrigerator! Our ‘old faithful’ thermonic ($20 garage sale) refrigerator has finally ‘kicked the bucket’ after five years of seasonal duty. It decided to do this just as we are preparing to launch for the 2026 season and hopefully an extended trip northward on ...

Re: Mac advice - N. Houston / Spring / Conroe
Hi Jolly Dodger! Welcome back to the water! If I might suggest something to think about when looking for a new 15 hp outboard. You might want to look to see if it’s rigged for electric start, remote throttle/shift, electric engine lift and wheel control. A majority of engines in that size range don’...

Hi Sunshinecoasting! Bye Sunshinecoasting! Really sorta sad that you’ve sold Entropy but glad that you had a good run with her. She will miss you I’m sure even as she settles in with her new family at what we all hope will be as caring as you were. I laud your pragmatism in parting with her while / ...

Re: Bolt-on Adjustable Trailer Step(s)
Hi Strange! Wow! Great photos! Thank you for the great detail images! They really help explain these really slick stairs. These are really honest stairs that a ‘normal’ person can appreciate. Good sturdy construction too! The installation looks to be straight forward and there seems to be good adjus...

Re: Bolt-on Adjustable Trailer Step(s)
Hi Strange! I’m with Krum! It would be great to see what you were able to work out. Sadly, Mobility/Dexterity is no longer my strong suit either (now that I’ve survived into longevity :D :D). While I’ve always tried to view every day as always being a gift, there are some tasks (like launching from ...

That’s good news!
Especially if it stays up during the coming summer.
(I’m hoping that it’s not just an early snow melt…..)

An over night soak in “3in1” oil soak does a good job of loosening things up

Bolt-on Adjustable Trailer Step(s)
Hi All! Just came across this item that might be of interest to those with after market trailers for their MacGregors. https://i.postimg.cc/tnyMbrg3/IMG-5467.jpg A simple adjustable step that can be added with simple bolt on (no drilling required) attachment/adjustment. https://keelguard.com/product...

Re: Slowly making forward progress lol
Hi wilburrr! I can’t tell ya what you should or shouldn’t do…. That’s your call. What I can suggest is if the motor can be pulled over, has compression, shifts in/out of gear and the prop turns then youre 85% of the way there to a running engine…. then with a bit of TLC you’ll get past that last 15%...
