Re: macgregor 26X Bent Mast

Get the shorter mast/boom/sails and run without ever looking back! :D :D You’ll have a blast and enjoy the sailing! The Mac19 masts sometimes have a secret feature that I’d like our Mac26X to have… a two piece interior-able stowing capability! No more having to leave the mast out when not on the wat...

Re: How I clean the bottom

Hi All! Glad to know there are something’s in life that work! I’ve tried a couple of products with mixed to marginal results. My best results were the 10-to-15% bleach solutions…. Yeah I know that bleach isn’t the best thing to use by some accounts. I don’t doubt that as it will also remove waxes bu...

Hi Bill at Boats 4 Sail!

Wow! That deposit has been out there for a while now….
Kind of a shame the Tatoos didn’t really get developed and into production.
Would have been………. :|

Re: Battery drained

Hi Be Free!

Great description of the ELCI!
The ELCI is similar to the air bag in your car in that if you never get into an accident then the air bag was not actually needed and if there is an accident then it could be the difference between life and death.

Re: Pedestal leak at the base

Forget the Silicone crud. It won’t last and will end up like Fido’s chew toy in addition to leaking while being hard to remove. On our Mac26X pedestal penetrations we made tight fit raised through collars from PVC fittings and then sealed up with 3M 5200 sealant. I don’t see why that wouldn’t work o...

Hi Green Look, I understand that this is a forum of people that like to do things themselves on thier own boats to suit their own objectives. I get that. But at the same time as someone with a professional background in actual design and production and technology there have been several aspects in t...

Hi LordElsinor! You don’t have a monopoly on the stupid stuff crowd. Down in our area of SC they have it as a competitive sport! 🫣🤪🙄 :D :D  :| 8) The season flag drop starts on Memorial Day, sprints to 4th of July and races downhill to Labor Day. Weekends are the peak competition days but ther...

Re: Seventeen Days Crisscrossing The Chesapeake

Hi NiceAft! Great trip! Glad you brought your A/C!👍👍 We really enjoy ours on our trips too! Amazing what a 5000 BTU unit can do inside a Mac! Nice set up you have in your Mac26M! (Aside Note: We love ours, it’s one of those single ducted compressor hose free standing type which works well in our Mac...

Re: Need identification of two screws

Hi Opie They don’t look like machine screws (too coarse a thread)… They don’t look like sheet metal screws either (no taper, no lead-in point or self tapping features)…. So given the style of thread (uniform coarse thread without taper and a constant minor diameter) they could most likely go into a ...
