Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2026
Hi All! As with all journeys one needs to be ever flexible and constructively adaptable to the ever changing weather, winds, tides opportunities and circumstances you meet along the way. It seems that our plans have changed as far as getting back up north to New Hampshire in June as previously antic...

Re: Slowly making forward progress lol
If I may suggest, The teeter-totter method is a common approach…. It is a process I’ve used to raise up our Mac26X to service it for hull cleaning/painting and keel servicing/maintenance. One possible process you could consider would be: - Have the trailer on firm level stable surface - Chock the al...

Re: Interesting Charts...
Hi Russ I totally get it with the calming effect of sailing over motoring. I really do! If we weren’t into the exploring and wildlife watching and only on open water then we’d be having the mast and sails up too 8) 8) The way the originally designed lowered mast is both a literal headache for me (as...

Re: Interesting Charts...
Hi Dustoff! Nice analysis! Thanks! It’s the reason most power boats went to chopper gun spray hull construction decades ago. Simplified construction with lower labor cost as lower skilled personnel could be utilized. Today the process is to spend on front end automation tooling like robotics to do t...

Hi Kmclemore! Very interesting charts! Thank you for sharing them! I was seeing something similar not long ago with regard to new vs used cars and original owner retention longevity. There was also some information on the type of vehicle category such as sedan, minivans, full size vans, sports cars,...

Re: Marina's are banning older boats?
I think it has more to do with boats that are not maintained rather than just age.
A poorly maintained vessel in a crowed marina is a hazard to itself as well as to the other vessels in the marina regardless of age.

Hi All! Thank you to those who convinced me not to sell off our old 99k mile 2006 Honda Accord! Yes it is a good running vehicle and it’s hopefully got another 100k mikes yet to go. My older daughter is finishing up her Master and starts an accelerated 1 year PreMed program up in Raleigh NC at he be...

Hi FittsFly!
You’re really moving along!
Looks very nice!
I’m gonna be envious of your hot onboard shower as I’m using a hand pump sprayer in the cockpit fighting off the gnats and no-see-ums!
Best Regards

Re: Anyone know of a way to track marine fuel prices w/o having to call every marina along the ICW?
Hi All! Just for fun I’d like to keep track of our local fuel prices for a bit to see how they change using the Waterways Guide as a reference Diesel and gas are effectively even at the moment at $6.30/gallon https://i.postimg.cc/nsHDWwzt/IMG-5551.jpg The increase in fuel costs, slip fees and other ...

Hi All! For what it’s worth: I was doing a bit of research and I found a good summary on the Hull truth site by a guy named Tom Clark back in 2014 Teleflex offers essentailly four different rotary mechanical steering systems. Safe-T, 3 turns lock-to-lock Safe-T-II, 3 turns lock-to-lock, plus a no fe...
