Re: Brand new mac owner
Hi All! :D ) Just for the purposes of defining that crazy is as crazy does is there anyone out there loony enough to sit in basically a semi sealed 5 foot 4 inch long bathtub for 106 days without interruption or resupply to simply have the bragging rights to having crossed the Atlantic??? The smalle...

Re: New study tackles dynamics of common—and difficult—sailing maneuver
Hi Russ! I may have mentioned this somewhere in the past but, and this is just my own personal opinion, before anyone pulls the plug and moves to geographically different places than where they have been happy I’d humbly suggest spending several months there over several seasons, (preferably the wor...

Great Small Boat Galley Suppers
Hi All! A good part of our enjoyment of our MacGregor comes from the opportunities we have traveling aboard Over Easy for extended trips like our 70 day and 21 day adventures on Lake Champlain or our 7 day adventure up to Charleston SC. Part of the fun is cooking aboard and enjoying great fun easy t...

Speak Fluent NMEA 2000??? (I don’t :-/)
Hi All! Anyone out there Speak Fluent NMEA 2000? I don’t :| :? :o but it seems my two chart-plotters and sonar do and I’ve had no idea of how to even begin to understand it all and how to get them talking to each other. I’ve toyed with having multiple sonar transducers (like someday mounting one in ...

Great article on Extending Battery Life
Hi All Came across a great article from Sail Magazine on extending, or at least preventing premature battery death https://sailmagazine.com/diy/know-how-preventing-premature-battery-death/ Worth a read even if one is familiar with the subject. It explains why in easy to understand format (much bette...

Re: Brand new mac owner
I only mention it as the wink MacGregor used in his marketing materials was indeed acted upon by the first owner I met. He also had a self installed internal gasoline tank that I could smell from the cabin. Hence I chose to fly to another city and buy a more stock example from that model year. :D :...

Bye Cougar! :| Sorry to see you go but congratulations on your new vessel! It is a very nice design, a really nice looking roomy functional layout and much bigger than a Mac! We hope that you have many many fun and happy days sailing her in a most interesting and beautiful part of the world. Fair wi...

Re: Brand new mac owner
Hi All! Be Free: This sport is supposed to be fun. There will always be a slight, usually manageable bit of danger inherent in taking a small boat out on the water but there is no reason to remove one of the central safety features of the boat for a slight, theoretical increase in speed or accelerat...

https://cdn4.volusion.store/reeua-fzzpa/v/vspfiles/photos/2601-1M0-2.jpg That looks great! Beautiful! What a nice looking boat too! Yeah! Something like that (and/or a bit longer.) While we would like a Dodger we also like the wide open unobstructed view we have now without it… Classic cake ...

Re: Best Bimini for a 26X?
Hi All A good idea or need is timeless! :D :D Folks are still needing Bimini and dodgers that are good quality at an affordable price. A PO bought the Bimini on our boat and there’s no identifier as to who made it. We modified it to give us 6’2” of clearance by splicing in an extension. I can stand ...

Hi Rum Boogie! Welcome to the forum! If you don’t already have the original operators manual for your boat you can find a copy within the Resources Tab of this website. It’s well written and very informative! Well worth it! When it comes to sailing a Mac please understand that it was specifically de...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025
Hi All! Hope everyone is/has been out having fun with their Macs! 8) 8) We only had one day out this past weekend which was a bit more adventurous than planned. We avoided the late afternoon cruises the remainder of the weekend and watched the thunderstorms roll through from shore. On Sunday we were...
