https://cdn4.volusion.store/reeua-fzzpa/v/vspfiles/photos/2601-1M0-2.jpg That looks great! Beautiful! What a nice looking boat too! Yeah! Something like that (and/or a bit longer.) While we would like a Dodger we also like the wide open unobstructed view we have now without it… Classic cake ...

Re: Best Bimini for a 26X?
Hi All A good idea or need is timeless! :D :D Folks are still needing Bimini and dodgers that are good quality at an affordable price. A PO bought the Bimini on our boat and there’s no identifier as to who made it. We modified it to give us 6’2” of clearance by splicing in an extension. I can stand ...

Re: Brand new mac owner
Hi Rum Boogie! Welcome to the forum! If you don’t already have the original operators manual for your boat you can find a copy within the Resources Tab of this website. It’s well written and very informative! Well worth it! When it comes to sailing a Mac please understand that it was specifically de...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025
Hi All! Hope everyone is/has been out having fun with their Macs! 8) 8) We only had one day out this past weekend which was a bit more adventurous than planned. We avoided the late afternoon cruises the remainder of the weekend and watched the thunderstorms roll through from shore. On Sunday we were...

Re: Our 26X boat tour on the last day of our Powell trip
Hi Tuxonpup! Be Free brings up an interesting point about having a 24 VDC system vs. a 12 VDC system and wire sizing and the future… While the higher voltage can allow for smaller wire sizes it might not be so obvious to those in the future which should someone bring it back to a 12 VDC system…maybe...

Re: $150 and a Wallyworld cutting board
Hi TheLandLady! I’d like a video of you rowing your Mac! That would be awesome! :!: :D Could you also get it while manually doing the hand bilge pump? That would be something to see! :D :D :D What is the make, model and year of your engine? With that information it can be determined that the fuse or...

Re: $150 and a Wallyworld cutting board
Hi TheLandLady! In my engineering practice I have always made sure that every circuit is protected. The relevant ABYC recommendation is that there be a fuse or circuit breaker within 7” of the positive battery terminal. There are good, reasonable a well thought out reasons for that recommendation. G...

Re: $150 and a Wallyworld cutting board
Hi TheLandLady! Glad to help as best as I can…. A dead short it when the circuit between the battery terminals is completed without an application load. That’s gonna dump all the current capacity of the battery and things generally get very hot very quickly which can even potentially melt/vaporize t...

Re: $150 and a Wallyworld cutting board
Hi TheLandLady! Fuses should be at least 25% larger than the maximum continuous current you plan to draw. If your batteries have maximum 100A draw, then 125A fuse is appropriate. I’d avoid not having a circuit breaker or fuse in-line to anything from the battery. People grouse about needing to poten...

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025
Hi All! We got out on the boat Saturday! Hooray! Left the slip about a little before 2 pm inspite of our efforts to get out earlier… one piddling thing after another :| Perfectly CLEAR weather, blue skies and NOTHING on the weather app radar images. We turned up the Beaufort River towards the downto...

Re: keel cable replace
Hi Sailor1! Looks like general hardware cable clamps. Technically there isn’t a spec torque on that kind of hardware other than tight as you can without stripping the threads. Don’t be surprised if the u-bolt rusts as it’s just flash zinc, not galvanized. Marine supply sources can provide you with S...

Re: Wish I had done this! (ballast blowout)
Hi FittsFly Ditto on Russ’ comment… about 3 inches or there about… maybe a bit more I figure that being able to blow ballast is something in the right direction if/when aground. Enough to break free is all I figure is needed. If it’s stuck aground with ballast full then that’s 1500 lbs more stuck an...
