Re: aerobic sailing???
While I don't kid myself that sailing is a substitute for my exercise classes, I place it in the "worthwhile physical activity" category. Lately I struggle between staying safe in the cockpit and the more physical and less "safe" onboard activities such as evaluating rigging twea...

Re: New to forum.
Welcome to the forum! Topping lift line? As long as it's strong enough to support the boom, whatever suits you. 3/8's inch should do. I just leave my crutch in place. Handy place to hang things to dry. I installed some stainless steel spring clips to hold the ladder in the up position, and attached ...

I have been very happy with my NOCO Genius 2-battery charger: https://no.co/genius2x2
They have single-battery chargers too if you prefer.

Re: Rigging the Reefing setup on a MacGregor 25
First of all, congratulations on the "free" boat. In quotes because there is, in fact, no such thing. :D It's entirely possible I am being dense, but there are some things in your description that only make sense if you are referring to the boom rather than the mast. When you say "ins...

Re: Winch Handle Holder?
I have bought a lot of these:

and have one a few mounted in my cockpit that are great for a number of things, winch handle storage being one of them.

Re: Repower and Repair or Sell?
This sounds like a boat that would be better for someone with the time, skills, and inclination to do the work themselves and/or put up with the current conditions. If you can find one that comes without these problems (and it would take a good surveyor to find that out) for a price you can accept, ...

Re: Sail Twist
The Rolly Tasker LiteSkin sail for my S came with 4 telltales. The top one is about 3 feet from the top, the bottom about 3 feet up, and the remaining two evenly spaced in between.

Re: Sail Twist
Is your boat equipped with a traveller? Sail twist for the mainsail is determined by how much the mainsheet is pulling down on the boom. The harder, the flatter the sail, the less twist. A traveller will allow you first to adjust the twist of the sail by adjusting tension on the mainsheet, then adju...

Re: Replacing the halyard block
I'm assuming that the slug slot where the bolt (nut?) is located is above the pulley, so you could maybe just be able to cut the slot open enough to access the it?

Re: Jib Sheets - Swivel Cam Cleats
Is anyone using something like the Harken H241 swivel cam cleats on their jib sheets? From looking at the layout of the cockpit, they look like they would simplify single-handing. https://westcoastsailing.net/harken-swivel-cam-cleat-h241/?srsltid=AfmBOoqGpnZ_G7YuTFhna6QWSJJChfIRsrP5cJ524TP783ACGVyc...
