Re: Rigging the Reefing setup on a MacGregor 25

Sounds like a fantastic project.

If you can't tell already, there is a small crowd of Mac nerds gathering, eager to offer help, advice, and perhaps a small amount of friendly heckling. :D

Re: Old geezer stanchion mod

I'm. It quite ready for the old geezer handles (which means I am still in denial) but the technique of facing forward while stepping down into the cockpit makes so much sense to me. Obvious in hind sight, but that's where I struggle for balance. Very helpful!

Re: Sailing the Bahamas

Didn't watch the whole thing but it caught my eye because we're headed to Nassau for a week next month. Staying on a boat slipped at Paradise Island and will definitely be checking out a few sailboats while there.

Re: 12 Gallon fuel tanks

Boat is slipped in Corpus.

For purposes of this forum, I think that best describes our sailing venue.

Our other residences really aren't anyone's business.

Re: 12 Gallon fuel tanks

The new tank fits fine under the seats in our :macm:

If I recall, they have slightly lower capacity than the originals and may be a little wider.

We use a piece of sunbrella to protect the tank from solar damage when not in use.

Re: Accidental Gybe Prevention/Control - Boom Brake

Interesting piece of kit I had never heard of before.

Ironic that the description from the eBay posting referenced includes this verbiage:
Please avoid purchasing knockoffs of this item on eBay and elsewhere as they infringe on our copyrights and substantially harm our business

Re: 12 Gallon fuel tanks

I ordered one of these as a replacement a few years ago and it has served well.

Re: 26M Daggerboard

Hi Ed, I'm not aware of replacements other than what BWY has an offer. I have as an eventual project the repair of our broken daggerboard, however I'm concerned that the repair might make it so strong that would no longer be sacrificial. A super sturdy dagger board might do a lot of damage to the hu...

Re: 26M Daggerboard

Could you please share what situation created your daggerboard to shatter? Maybe you can help a newbie learn. Well, it doesn't take much as the dagger board isn't really that strong on a :macm: . It would hopefully survive a gentle grounding or lift up in the well, but can't really take a hard hit ...

Mac 65 for Sale

FWIW, we noticed that there is a Mac 65 for sale in Corpus Christi.

Mast is down and it obviously needs some TLC.
