Bent Mast

Hi: I am the guy who lost two masts. Hence the name D'Master. A pretty blue M also lost a mast while at mooring in our bouy field at Zephyr Cove, Lake Tahoe. I would replace the bent mast as that is where both of mine broke leaving the bottom half standing. With genny and main in the water you will ...

Marine Groth

I have had good luck with Baer Deck Brightener. It contains Oxalic
Acid. Thins one gallon to five. Put on with stiff deck brush and a little
scrub. Rinse with power washer if you have one.

Suzuki Water Pump

Well the N. Calif. weather broke today so got to the job of changing the water pump. Problem encounted was the 6 flange bolts on lower unit. Two of the 6 snapped off. Hard to believe this could happen with a quarter inch drive with 8 inch bar. Broke two easy outs off trying to get them out. Any sugg...

Suzuki overheat

I lost my Suzuki owners guide. Dealer replaced with a Johnson guide and as we know it is the same beast. Page 31 says "DO NOt use the flushing port on the starboard side of the gearcase. Using this fllushing port will restrict water supply to the engine, causing damage." There is no furthe...

suzuki water pump

Prepaired to change water pump on 2000 suzuki. For those of you who have done this or seen it done. What happens to the rod that controls the forward and reverse when the lower case is dropped? Can you drop the case without detaching the rod first? Intend to start project tomorrow when we are suppos...

Add the UV strip is my advice. Three years on my jib kept in a sock and
still had the leach fail. Doyle loft repaired and added UV strip for $60.
I think the sail holds a better shape with the three inch trailing edge with
leach line.

Damaged X

Marina Keys Lake Tahoe salvaged an X from under a dock. I saw it there last month when I was storing my X for the week. There was a new M at Zephyr Cove with the mast down in the mooring field. I dont use my bouy there for more than a day as I lost 2 masts on the X and one one my lido. Our rigging d...
