Re: Winch Handle Holder?

Sometimes I use the winch to raise the dagger board. Very heavy and I like having the winch handle near by for it.

Winch Handle Holder?

I keep mine (when not in use) in a pocket on my head door. Very handy. 8)

My 26M didn't come with one. Should I buy 2 or 1? Where is the best place to mount it?

Pedestal leak at the base

I found that my 26m leaks at the base of the pedestal. Last year I used silicone to seal the area but because the pedestal is free to move the fix didn't last. Anyone have a recommendation on how to better stop the leak.

Re: In the market for a used main sail

Yes, that will happen ANY TIME they use UPS for shipping to Canada. Fortunately there are options. I use www.crossborderpickups.ca They provide you with a US address in NY Niagara Falls and you ship everything there. They bring the items across the border and you can pick it up from their warehouse ...

Re: North Channel / Georgian Bay June 2024.

Please post about your experience in the North Channel. Hoping to do the same trip in a few years. I'm on Lake Ontario and hoping to see something more scenic in the future.

Upper shroud and forestay attachment

My boat doesn't have the tabs connected to the upper shrouds. It just didn't come with them. Is this normal? My upper shrouds fit directly into the pin shackle.

Spreader tube attachment Nut (nylon or not)

I'm wondering about the nuts that hold spreaders to the spreader tube attachment. Are they all nylon nuts or not? I want to replace them and the boat is still in storage. The manual says 1/4" x2 bolts and lock nuts. The photo does not seem to show any washers installed. Does anyone know the siz...

Re: Keeping the boat into wind - question

You are not alone, thanks for asking this question. This is why I have never taken the boat out alone, getting someone to go with me is sometimes a challenge. North Texas is not a sailers paradise. This was my number one priority this season - to setup a safe way of steering into wind and lowering ...

Re: Keeping the boat into wind - question

Ditto. I was going to replace the halyard with a loop. But this I can do by simply adding another. I am highly skeptical of this "loop" idea that's going around. 1. I suspect the loop will prevent me from raising it - and dropping it - fast and easy. I doubt the loop will run free - I sus...

Re: Keeping the boat into wind - question

Thanks for the idea. Here is my setup. Similar question. Do you think those eye straps can be drilled into the pedestal? Yes. Again, little tension on them. Although here it's easy to access the underside, if you want to bolt them in instead. https://i.postimg.cc/HcdczZ8n/PXL-20230615-181421497.jpg

Re: Oh no. Found a leak!!

Thanks for the replies. I went to a composite supply store and showed the crack to the owner. He assured me that this is a fairly straight forward repair. He said, to sand a bit using 80 grit and then very slightly sand into the crack (to open it up and create a v shape) using a dremel. Then apply e...

Oh no. Found a leak!!

I found a leak. But, it could be worse. I put the boat in the water a few days ago and left the ballast empty. No leaks anywhere. Today I went out to the boat and opened the ballast. I was doing some electrical work and when I looked around the battery I noticed a small "crack" in the fibe...

As a side note. You are not allowed to drink in Canada unless you have all three of the following. Sleeping quarters, galley (permany) and permanent head (not porta potty). Also, you must be anchored or at a dock.

Re: Makita battery sink pump

Interesting. A water cooled CPU pump? I would never have thought of that. Very clever. My first attempt at a sink pump was just a faucet pump switcheraroo. It didn't work well. Prime or some such thing. So I went with a cheap Lowes bar sink faucet and a pressure pump. https://www.amazon.com/SAILFLO...
