A wind gust on the SF Bay. Not exceptional. Maybe 25-30 knots.

Re: 2006 mast extrusion
I suggest to buy the grey ones for electrical work. They have an enlarged end that connected to another segment. I cut teethes on it like a circular saw. As it advances, I attached new segments. Once through, I used it to channel the electrical wire and a thin line (for future upgrades) before I pul...

Re: 2006 mast extrusion
Bad news for you. My 2006 mast has foam. I had to use PVC pipes. 2 years ago it broke in half and there was no channel for wires. The good news is that it was not that hard to drill with the PVC pipes as the foam is not continuously all the way through the mast.

Re: How to apply bottom paint on trailer
I secured the trailer then raised the boat. For that I made a flattened u shaped support for the aft with, after raising the boat on it, I secured on blocked.
Then I raised the bow. After finishing I removed the supports and painted the areas that were covered.

Re: Why use bunk carpet?
I would suggest to use a carpet. It allows for small vibrations while trailering and widens the pressure points. Wood been harder, due to the vibrations, at the contact, the wood surface will move over the boat surface. So direct contact with wood will slowly eat through your boat gel coat.

I second that. I'm also doing the "Mac bump". Increase progressively the spread till you get the effect you want.

Re: Toilet Bowl Wax... In-Hull Transducer Mounting
The Garmin in hull transducer comes with a cylinder like support. The bottom is fixed to the boat fiberglass and the transducer is at the top. An antifreeze liquid fills the gap between the hull and the transducer bottom. The inclosure is sealed to avoid evaporation.

Re: Stuck in irons.. help please.
Ditto 8) Also, noticed a huge improvement when the engine is out the water. The propeller has a significant resistance impacting tacking. if your going to leave the engine in the water when you are sailing then that's a pretty good quick way to get out of irons. Just turn the key and in 2 seconds y...
