Re: Motor choice

Real planing is around 20 MPH for an X. Won't do that with a 60 HP motor. The more rounded hull on the M requires a little more speed for planing. Victor Well, I don't know... we had it up over 21 mph with the new Suzuki 60 that's on it, and I'm sure if I took off all the gear that's on board we co...

It only could have been better if my younger son could have made it out from Boulder, but his research work (active experiments) presented it.
Dang. That must have been prostrating.

Re: New Option for Portable Boat Air Conditioning!

Interesting. Only a few mixed reviews on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Zero-Breeze-2300-Portable-Conditioner/dp/B096N7JDS2 I actually laughed out loud at this review statement… “You don’t believe me, go ahead buy one and join the hundreds of prostrated costumers complaining about this POS.” My biza...

How cool to be able to experience this and even better at your lake house. …And with my son, his future wife, my own wife, and my best hunting buddy and his wife to share it with. It only could have been better if my younger son could have made it out from Boulder, but his research work (active exp...

Re: Motor choice

Well, my re-power is complete. After much research and discussions with BWY, my marina, and he folks re-powering the boat (Suzuki dealer), I went with the Suzuki DF60AV four-stroke with a 14x9 prop, replacing our old Nissan 50D two-stroke. We tested a wide range of props on the boat, and the 14x9 on...

No ice at all on the lake - indeed, I was wishing I'd had my boat up there, but I need it here at home for a while to teach sailing to my Scouts. We are taking them on a sailing adventure at St. Thomas this summer.

Love the first video. "The darkness is here!"

Couldn't access the second one. Needs permission?
Yep, it was permissions… should be fixed now.

Re: US Eclipse - April 8, 2024

Just now seeing this thread - been busy up here on Lake Champlain with visitors and such. It was an amazing experience. We had what I think is the perfect place to view the eclipse… at our lake house, on the tip of Point Au Fer (NY) , high on the cliff, facing south and overlooking the lake, with vi...

Looks hazily and scratchily would be kind… my personal assessment i...

Re: Hatch vent options

Interesting design. I note that it's threaded, with what appears to be a lock-nut collar? Threads can sometimes be a bear to 3D print. Also, I note there's no dorade box or way to drain off incoming water, in the event of operation during inclement weather. Would you just remove it and plug the hole...
