Re: how bad is this blister
I'd say it's a bad one. Looks like it's down to raw glass. Easy to fix, though. Heat it up with a hot-air gun to disperse any remaining water. Then, after using all my previously stated bodily protections (see my other postings about fiberglass work), I'd grind out the area to remove any loose fiber...

Re: Honda 50 hp carburetor synchronization
Well done! I did the belt on my 2004 Toyota Sienna... it was a ROYAL PITA, given that there's only about 3" to work in with that big transverse V6 in there. Anyway, after installing the belt it seems I got it off by a tooth... the engine ran, but ran like crap, with a lack of power. Went back a...

Re: Winch covers?
Well, I found this place by searching for “small winch cover”…
https://robship.com/products/rosbhip-es ... inch-cover
Looks like yours would fall into the “medium” category.

Re: Motor choice
Noticed the post about having charts and performance data from BWT. Any chance you still have them? Just repowered to a Suzuki DF60A wondering what props they tested in that combination. Thanks in advance.. AD Send me a PM and I’ll see what I have to send. It was a while back, and I’m also not sure...

Re: Recomendatioms for cleaning cosckpit cusions
Magic Erasers will help clean the cushions… but at a cost. They will cause scratches in the vinyl that will eventually collect more grime that will be harder to remove the next time around. I am not a fan of them. I am a fan, however, of the StarBrite brand of cleaners and polishes for marine use. I...

Re: Honda 50 hp carburetor synchronization
How does the one you use work? Place the flat flange against the opening to the carburetor. Adjust the sight glass to vertical. Start the engine, and adjust the flow regulating disc inside the unit such that the bead in the sight glass is mid-way in the tube. Then, without changing anything, move t...

Re: So... I wondered what AI had to say about the MacGregor....
Mr. Happy?** Gotta love the engineers. Yep, and all the OS/2 code units were codenamed after stuff from Star Trek. Warp was obvious - it referred to OS/2 3.0, but OS/2 Communications Manager was called “Ferengi”, OS/2 3.1 was “Borg”, and other components were called “Klingon”, etc. OK, so it was a ...

Re: So... I wondered what AI had to say about the MacGregor....
OS/2 Warp was a fine OS, however IBM didn't know how to market it. Thinkpad? Did you suggest the little red eraser pointer? Yep, and they let the unscrupulous Gates of MS in on the system and got their lunch eaten. It was an outstanding OS, and was used for decades after it was discontinued, in cas...

Re: So... I wondered what AI had to say about the MacGregor....
I'm wondering if you wrote some of those IBM manuals. Well, I did. I contributed to quite a few IBM “Red Books”… internal technical manuals that were occasionally offered to customers. They were some of the best documents on IT technology in the business. I was also fortunate to have been on the Th...

Re: Have you ever had the itch to sell your 26M/X and buy a "true" sailboat?
Funny you asked that - I am going to sell "BOAT". Kinda sad to say. Did BOAT sell his 26M and leave the forum? That was his last post, so I take him at his statement, and assume it happened. He has not posted on the forum since then, but he has stopped in to visit the forum, as late as Ap...

Re: MRS line?
I have the old 26X MRS. ANyone know what line (size and length) I should get to replace the old one (been there 15 years)? :? The original (non-winch) MRS was supplied with 54 feet of 5/16" white line. If, however, you're referring to the other (non-wench) Mrs. system... I've been maintaining ...

I'm 77 and still going strong. I went to Philmont when my son was 14. He's now scoutmaster of the same troop and I went back to Philmont 3 years ago with both my son and 17 YO grandson. Good luck on keeping your pack under 45 pounds. They give you lots of extra cooking equipment and a rain fly for ...

Re: Rub rail, other style....
I really don't know of another style, nor do I think a larger one would really fit.
I wonder if someone has installed a smaller one on your boat? Can you post a photo of your existing rub rail?
