I'm going to be in Miami that week. One of these years I'm going to make it.
When/if you do, you’ve got at least one place to stay for free. Happy to have you as a guest at Puff’s Woods.

2026 MacGregor Mid-Winter Gathering of the Faithful

It's time again to gather the faithful for our annual Philadelphia-area get-together of MacGregor & Tattoo folks. This year we're trying a new venue - Phil's Tavern offers a wide selection, from pub-grub to fancy dinners, and their menu is absolutely huge, so it should accommodate nearly every ...

Re: Fore/Aft weight balance vs. sailing performance.

Not being someone who has researched replacing my Mac, this statement really got my attention. You could sell your well setup mac for likely double the cost of a comparable keel boat. Can you document this :?: There are always some forum members who are looking to sell their Mac. This could be good...

Do be careful when cutting and sanding the teak… the dust is very toxic (actually, it’s even suspected of causing adenocarcinoma), so a good mask is definitely in order.

Update regarding the Adirondac Cruise ship, following yesterday’s massive blaze at its dock in the village of Lake George. "The fire apparently started on the upper deck bow and pilot house at 6:45 and was put out by 7:20 by Lake George, North Queensbury and Bay Ridge Firefighters. The Departme...

Fire on Lake George

Sadly, the beautiful Lake George boat, The Adirondack, had a terrible fire this morning. Fortunately, it was not a truly vintage boat, but it’s a big loss all the same. Although no cause has yet been determined, it serves as a tragic reminder to mariners to maintain your boats well, have current saf...

Re: New 20 horsepower outboard

I believe the subject in this thread was 20-horse outboards, which brand to choose, and the value/difference between a 20 and 50 hp motor.

Let's keep on that path, shall we?

Thanks.

Re: Block and tackle for positioning mast to step

Why not just use the mast raising system designed for the boat? The gin pole attaches through the forward set of holes in the mast step. The original version used a block and tackle to pull down on the gin pole and raise the mast. Blue Water Yachts sells a newer version that uses a brake winch like...
