Re: Inflatable sails
Interesting. They don't mention the power used by the compressor to fill those enormous sails, though... I imagine that's substantial.

Re: A New Journey Begins for OverEasy - 2023/2025
Yeah, I think the whole water pump impeller changing is overdone. I watch the pump stream… if it still has a good flow, there’s no reason to service it. I’ve had them last 5 years or more. That being said, I use my boat only in clear lake water, so it doesn’t suffer corrosion or rubbish.

Re: List of lines on Max 26X?
I'm going to put this in the RESOURCES page. It's good info. Russ, if you're going to post it to our resources area, I'd like to offer the following corrected list. I believe this to be more accurate and complete for a 26X. Main Halyard 5/16" x 66' Main Sheet 3/8" x 31' Main Downhaul 3/8&...

Re: bow eye repair
Well, I suppose it's possible, but it's going to deform as you tighten the screws, and whenever there's a significant load on it. If it were me, I'd shape an aluminum block to fit the inside of the boat, with a flat back, and then drill it to suit... then use stainless washers and nyloc nuts.

Was someone looking for a mast? Saw this on eBay today...
Don't know the owner, so the usual 'buyer beware' situation applies. Looks like he's selling a mast *and* a boom, with rigging and custom cap. Also looks like the interior wiring has been modified, with non-marine wiring and plug. Price is $499, but it also has 'best offer' turned on, so you've got ...

Re: Raising mast on ramp?
I am not familiar with intricacies of the :macx: For clarity, do you have the boom still attached to the mast while the mast is lowered? Nope. It gets detached before dropping the mast - that's what the factory manual recommends. I always detach mine, because I'm always doing it for storage at the ...

Re: Raising mast on ramp?
I would not raise it while on the ramp. - other folks may be waiting to use the ramp and you’ll unnecessarily delay them - you’ll be tempted to rush the job and may make an error that could cause damage or injury - doing it on the ramp will actually be more difficult, since the boat is leaning aft… ...
