Re: New Boat/Travel Refrigerator Suggestions for 2026

If I was to replace it, I'd look at the products on the BougeRV website. looks like they've got some great options, and good pricing. BougeRV has an option with some of their portable fridges to add a battery pack that would run the fridge without a power source, like if you wanted to take it for a...

Re: Interior Cabin Paint

Maybe lean into it and add a matching nav station to really catch the eye?

Re: New Boat/Travel Refrigerator Suggestions for 2026

I bought this Marsail 24QT 12V/24V last year to fit our X cooler space: https://www.amazon.com/Marsail-Refrigerator-Electric-Portable-110-240V/dp/B0F1SWWSF7/ref=sr_1_3?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.vS7ZBUc8baTVwVlOO28XiM2TBugksOxaZmokfCZuxCK_O_DKWXFIbg3Zvx-V5JLis7k_Wf-e9ECpxZwkNgc_fKaIjYrWXL5UBN58Oj3_tXshzjATTFd...

Re: Leaving Lake Powell...

Thanks for sharing. Those houseboats are gigantic! I've seen brochures and they are floating apartments. Replacing that tow bar was a wise move. It's a common failure point and when it fails it's catastrophic. Does the new marina have slips available? it looks pretty large. Yep, you can get a 30' w...

Leaving Lake Powell...

We're finally moving the Millennium Guppy closer to home! I worked a half day on Monday and headed up to Lake Powell circa lunch time with both of us off for the rest of the week. We got in close to sunset and spent the first night at the Wahweap resort, then picked up the boat from storage the next...

Re: New Tow Vehicle

When the storage office opened and we were able to secure a spot in their sailboat yard, we discovered eleven other Macs! Eight 26X and three 26M, ours bringing it up to an even dozen. We got her stowed just as it hit 100 degrees and an extreme heat warning went into effect. We then headed back to T...

Re: New Tow Vehicle

We finally put the Santa Cruz to the tow test. Last trip up to Lake Powell I had our ‘96 steel trailer’s single axle rehabbed, new backing plates/brakes and bearings. This week we went back up and had the defunct brake actuator/tow arm cut off and a new one bolted on, so this was the first time I’ve...

Re: 300Ah LiFePO4 upgrade

Timely thread! Looks like I'll get some time to work on the boat next week as it's spring break and it's supposed to be in the mid-70s at the lake. I've got the supply side sorted with two 130w flex panels in series connected to the MPPT solar controller/DC-DC converter, and a pair of 100Ah LiFePO4...

Re: Buying my first boat

No idea who's selling this in Utah, but it's a nice price for an X with all the upgrades I'm currently doing to ours:

Seller is relocating to Seattle so thought it may be pertinent to the OP.

Re: 6 hours to launch, Tucson to Lake Powell POV

Ha, I just figured out I could rename my original channel to the boat name instead of creating a new one! Went ahead and re-uploaded the dingyak video there with the rest of the boat videos after updating the channel name. I think I'll leave the driving POV video alone as a first attempt using the g...

Re: 6 hours to launch, Tucson to Lake Powell POV

That inflatable rig looks pretty cool. How much run time did that battery give you? The motor looks like it pushed you along nicely. It was under an hour. The case held a pair of 20Ah LiFePO4s, so 40Ah in parallel, just over the 37A max draw of the motor. I tried it out with one the 26X's 100Ah LiF...

Yeah, it's the first try editing video from the glasses, they are pretty great for capturing close action with both hands free, just have to keep your head level and stabilization engaged. Mine are Ray-Ban Wayfarers, the Johnny Cash style, with prescription progressive lenses in them, you have to kn...

6 hours to launch, Tucson to Lake Powell POV

Monday morning I made a solo trip up to Lake Powell to get our trailer serviced, which required floating our 26X off it and then taking the trailer into Page to get the axle worked on. It needed fresh bearings, there was a sheared off lug, and they found the brake drums were completely rusted solid....
