Re: 30 Seconds. That's What a Lithium Fire Gives You.

Clearly a personal opinion, but … I get the increased power capacity. But in a SMALL boat with only 2 exits, that rare, catastrophic event will result in serious injuries if not death. And the total loss of the boat is a given. It is a chemical fire that cannot be fought. ANYTHING you do to try to e...

Re: Mac advice - N. Houston / Spring / Conroe

Firstly :D , Yep. 50hp TLDI. Same motor. Yes, quite interested! I believe that any outboard motor which does not come with a handle with a throttle on it will have a point to connect the steering linkage. How else would you steer them? :) If a boat motor doesn’t come with everything needed, except m...

Just because you CAN put something on a boat doesn’t mean you should.

Re: New owner of 26M

Forgot one important detail. The gelcoat on a 26M is a little thinner than most fiberglass boats. So, the best advice is get it clean. And then keep it that way. Covering or storing indoors and an occasional one-step polish and wax will keep it looking great.

Re: New owner of 26M

2). First, let me say that you’ll get as many answers to this question as there are fiberglass boats afloat. What you seem to be referring to is the gelcoat oxidation on a boat that has been left out in the sun. The issue is that this layer must actually be removed. And that depends on how bad it is...

Re: Mac advice - N. Houston / Spring / Conroe

Getting the old one off is easy. I’ve got a cherry picker that’ll pluck that thing off and drop it in my truck no problem. :D

But I’ve no experience with installing one. :?

Re: Mac advice - N. Houston / Spring / Conroe

Jolly Dodger, I’m bettin’ your boat was originally sold by Captain Frank, with a steel trailer (right here next to the salt water OCEAN :? ) and a Tohatsu 50 HP TLDI 2 stroke. In that case, and assuming the compressor is serviceable, I’d PAY you for it. Want it in any case! In terms of dealers, I lo...

Re: Bolt-on Adjustable Trailer Step(s)

Solid built, powder coated (they have LOTS of color choices) aluminum. Lots of color choices for the non-skid mats. There are only 2 minor issues. The flange on the winch mount and extension is too adjustable for my taste. But it does stay in place with all 8 bolts tight. And the little brackets for...

Re: Mac advice - N. Houston / Spring / Conroe

After neglecting my Mac for 15 years, I've retired and decided to retrieve mine from behind a barn, between a goat farm and chicken pen. https://i.postimg.cc/QHr9xnHf/IMG-0349.jpg 1. I'm in the same boat except that mine seems to be in working order. Have a fuel restriction issue I'm looking into . ...

Right now I have the hand rail off. I'll put it back later. But here you can see better where that top step takes me.

Re: Bolt-on Adjustable Trailer Step(s)

Stair mount mounted! https://i.postimg.cc/gxM64jQ8/IMG-0415.jpg I don't have pics of the assembly of the stairs themselves. That was the trickiest part (at least to me). I I'll take some close ups in a bit. And I'm old and confused. I only have 6 steps. But . . . Steps and hand rail mounted! https:/...
