Look at some alternatives first
I moved my two batteries to be on centerline, under the galley, between the centerboard lift line tube and the upright panel that makes the hallway to the head. I don't have photos immediately available, but I'll try to describe: I have one group 24 and one group 27 battery. I don't go for special g...

East Bay area?
So, Oakland, Vallejo, Martinez, Benicia.....? Yes, this is most likely a 24 Venture. pretty much any boat trailer with an open center will haul your boat i.e. side bunks only. Single axle will take the weight. The Venture had about six inches of swing keel hanging out under the hull. I had a 20' Bal...

I tried to post a photo with my reply and got axed out
So here's what I did: My 26S has passive ventilation installed, one scoop facing forward to a hose 2/3 of the way down, and one scoop facing rearward with hose to bottom. Perko makes a combination steaming/anchor light
But it takes two bulbs, so three wires need to be run up the mast. I did it and as long as I'm not worried about battery consumption, it works fine. The light has one bulb facing forward and one covering aft. With just the aft on, you're set for after dark navigation, with just the forward one on wi...

The line is attached, usually, with just a knot in a hole
Mine is just a 5/16" line, same as the halyards and sheets. It runs through a series of sheeves under the galley and down the tube into the centerboard trunk. The centerboard is just like the rudder, a cross drilled hole with a hole that comes into it from the rear. A simple stopper knot holds ...

Easy way to get the boat off
Tie a line from your port side cabin top winch, under the boat to the starborad side cabin top winch. This will hold the centerboard up in the trunk. Once you get the boat in the water, you can drop a new line in or whatever you need to re-attach the lifing line. Had to do this on an Ensenada with a...
