March you are probably write It would be nice to have Roger's opinion in the matter. As a designer of a fine boat he is forced to balance his construction for most users. For example: Roger suggests 50hp engine. Many of Mac users have installed bigger engines. Who was the first? There was no law for...

Gerry Forgive me for answering to you almost a year after. Thank you very much you have being very helpful. The total amount of money for transform ft50 to ft60 in Greece is 1500 euros. My engineer is against it. He says a lot of money for 2 extra knts. I will think about it Question: When powering ...

Bawgy You clearly disagree. Why? You tried to power to 10 knts with rudders down and suffer a damage or your objection is more like <<leave it as it is>>? To all: I feel that the steering system of the M26 is suffering from the continuous steering. Also being in the sea with a lot of boats bigger an...

Thank you all for replying. The concisions of the problem are when motoring or under sails and motor in the area of 10 knts. I tried to lower a small amount of centerboard/daggerboard but nothing happened. I do sail the boat but often I need to go faster. So I thought that with shorter rudders I wil...

rudders down over 6 knts ????
Hi to all. When the waves are coming sideways with motor and rudders up with speed over 6 knts my M26 needs heavy steering (autopilot is out of the question). So my idea is to by a new set of rudders and cut them in half or leave the 3/4 of them I have not decide yet. Any opinion or advice will be a...

Frank you mean that in US you have two different ways to calculate your speed in the water???? One near the coast or in rivers and one in the ocean??? And what kind of miles are on your maps? In Greece and I hope in many countries around the world nautical mile is a measure of distance and Knt is a ...

Just to understand each other. My advertising liflet 3 pages writes: with outboard motor 50hp can gain 23 mph. The top speed of 24 mph can be reached only with empty balance and small crue. At the back, at the specifications writes: speed with outboard motor 50hp 23 knt. Since we are all talking abo...

Nice video beene. In Greece this kind of water is rare. Andrew: You and Frank have convinced me that there is no point to struggle to gain an extra mile. I will stick with this propeller and I will enjoy the boat. I was puled from the Macgregor's advertising that the boat with 50hp motor goes up to ...

Dear Andrew Thank you because your reply exceeds the narrow angle of propeller size. My idea of sailing is to go out with friends or family and spend a week in the sea. I hope this is the philosophy that this boat was made for. So I don't know how to do this without having at least the thinks I have...

Thank you very much Frank and Andrew for replying. You both cleared the fog in my mind. Frank, the first think I wanted to do after the disappointing of Suzuki was to by a bigger motor. Then I discovered that the port police of my country would not allow it. I can only put a motor up to 50 hp. Isn't...

Thank you for replying. I am new at this. Well in the front of the propeller has an K11 and at the back two numbers in separate locations 11 and 14 without the X between them. I know that a propeller K13 is 11 1/8 X 13 so I presume that mine is a 14X11. I don't Know which is the pitch and which is t...
