Rudder Castle Corrosion
I was in the process of replacing my old rudder on my 1982 Mac 25 when I discovered severe (IMO) corrosion around the rudder mounting holes in the rudder castle  . I'm wondering if there is a source for a new castle or can the holes somehow be patched? Thanks for any helpful input. Click on Pic...

It was along time ago but, I did a long weekend trip from Dana Pt. to Shelter Island in SD Bay. We trailered to Dana Pt. with a driver aboard to return the trailers to Shelter Island Launch Ramp. Spent the night at Dana intially anchored but moved to a guest slip as the weather was SCW and the ancho...

And, then there are those of us that are comtemplating the purchase of a :macm: for the first time. I'm willing to watch the forum for the conclusion of this drama. In all things production something will eventually slip through the proverbial crack. If this is a trend then I won't be getting a new ...

Garmin 172C or any others for that matter.
What's the consensus on antennae? Internal or external? Not all that much difference in price at WM ($20).

Jack Falling Apart
I had a 1978 Mac25 for a couple of years (read 1978 - 1980) and never had a problem with the jack. Of course, back in the day we didn't have computers let alone a wonderful forum like this. :D I used automotive jack stands when the unit was in the driveway and only used the trailor jack to raise and...

All good inputs, thanks to all. I've noticed the sagging rear suspension with just my camping gear loaded. We seem to take everything including the kitchen sink . I was curious about how it would take the tongue weight of something like a Mac with that kind of rear suspension. We are definitely thin...

Frank, I totally agree with you. I've talked to alot of folks, those that tow and those that don't, and they all say the same thing. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that when I do get my boat I'll be getting a new tow vehicle as well. I know that I'd get a different answer from each you...

Trannys
I'm new to this site. Don't have a boat yet, hopefully soon. I did have one of the early Mac25s in the late 70's. Towed that with an AM Ambassador V8 with no problems. I have a 99 Dodge Grand Caravan ES, 3.8L, 5K towing pkg, with 77k. Haven't done any towing just camping trips to Yosemite and the li...
