Difference between sailing hauled in to port and starboard

Hello to all. In the first place, excuses by my English. My McGregor 26X of the 2003 sails 0.5 knots faster and making better angle hauled in to port in comparison with going hauled in to starboard. Is this normal?

Navman pilot allows to connect several emitters of navman that they have an own communication protocol (in addition to the NMEA) through device call NAVBUS. Certainly, it's a very complete pilot, but the price in Spain, including the arm, is about $2000 as opposed to $850 that the Raytheon costs The...

Is it valid to sail plotting fixed course with the wind, or only in geographic course? I can't address this capability with other models, but the ST4000 has it. In order to do so with any autopilot you will need an input from a wind instrument, which will send wind data to the autopilot through NME...

I've got a pointsails spi 2 or 3 moths ago, and I use it practically all times I sail. I've got the ATN sock and tacker, and all work very well. Last sunday with app. wind between 6 and 9 knts., gps shows 5,5 to 6,3 knts (record for my Mac) with courses between 90 and 120. You can see some photos in...

How many time do you sail?

I've seen that a lot of photos of mods are made over the trailer. I've got my Mac 2 years ago and it has been out of the sea 2 times for 4 days (only to paint bottom). In winter I sail 2 or 3 weekwends a month. I understand that those that sail in lakes freeze in winter do not do it. But the rest, d...

I've jib, and I sail without reefing with more than 15 knots. The only thing that I must do is to take the main sheet in the hand and to drop it when the wind comes up. I read that all people in this forum use genoa, but with my experience, jib is enough. It's only 2 years old, but, when I must chan...
