Stern seats are an easy install. I got mine about 2 years ago from BWY and the fit was great. It's been some time since I did mine, but as I recall you will need to cut access holes to hold the nuts for the lower brace in place. I believe I used a 4 inch hole saw and when fininsed installed an acces...

I think an epoxy barrier coat and paint is a must for anyone who leaves thier boat in the water for months at a time. Yards will quote you $2,000 but it is actually very easy and cheap. My wife and I did our 97x as well as our 03M. As I recall our material was about $ 350.00 total. ( 200 for interlu...

I recentlly installed a Piranha Propeller, 3-blade 14x11 B-style on my 2003 M with Suzy DF70. The ocean was a bit rough when I took it out so I did not get a good speed run. Getting to WOT was no problem.

We had a custom dodger made by Castro Marine Canvas in Oxnard apx. Sept 04. Excelent quality, all stainless hdw, full width, installed for $ 1,500. He even came up with a trick way keeping the front in place over the sliding hatch. He created a leather pouch along the leading edge and filled it with...

I believe I may have one of the first non dealer M boats delivered, Hull No. MACM0016C303. We ordered it in October 02 from H&S in Newport Ca. and took delivery 3-10-03. We originally ordered white but later found out that Rodger decided to make only blue for the first month or two. So what the ...

I chose a standard bimini for my 2003m. I believe it was a "Taylor made" from West Marine. Less than a boat buck as I recall. We wanted standing headroom while under sail as well as power so I removed the main sail and had North Sails in Oxnard recut the foot from -0 at the mast to -12&quo...

The 45 deg tilt worked to my benefit as the weight of the lower unit was somewhat supported by the driveshaft in the race thru the mid unit. Trying to support the lower unit weight in a verticle position and remove/install the bolts would be more difficult. I of course had just changed out the lower...

I changed out the impeller Saturday without a problem. Huge difference in the water flow. Billy, thanks for the link but I could not get it to work either. The whole job took about 2 hrs. Next time it should only take 30 minutes. The lower unit drops out easy, all fluids are contained (no need to dr...

Suzy DF70 impeller

Has anyone changed out the impeller on a 2003 suzuki DF 70.Looks like the lower end has to drop. How long is the drive shaft that drops with the lower end and are all fluids contained in the lower end or could anything spill. I'm going to replace it this weekend and want to do it while it in our sli...
