Mike: Your marina should have access to or sell "deck fill pump out adapters." If the marina is a self pumpout, it may require boat owners to have their own adapter because they cost $15 each and typically do not float. I think the adapter you need threads into your waste deckplate and the...

Congratulations!! Ignore the "blue with envy" whities. Not only is the blue hull faster than the white hull in all regions of the world, in a recent survey of the world's hottest swimsuit models, it has been determined with great certainty that beautiful women find owners of the blue hull ...

At a marina I worked at a few years ago, we had a pvc attachment that threaded on to the pump-out systetm hose that we used to pump out porta-potties. The attachment was inserted directly through the top hole of the toilet down to the tank. Once empty, we would fill with water and pump out again, an...

Most recent NADA retail values for Mac 26M, boat only: 2005-18,990 2004-18,150 (Used trade-in 13,250 low and 15,400 high) To determine the value the taxing authority has on your property you divide the tax amount by the tax or milleage rate, which equals your assessed value. You then divide the asse...

Mark:

With the increase of thefts at our marina, I would hope that other boaters would call police when they hear an alarm instead of seeking to silence it. We have had over ten break-ins and numerous dock box burglaries in the past two months.

The fake alarm idea is very good. As to a real alarm, I was thinking of a siren mounted in the V-berth to its own battery operating off of contacts on the companionway hatch. The arm/disarm switch could be hidden in the anchor locker floor. The siren would blast until the battery goes dead or someon...

Blasted Thieves!

We were out of town this past weekend for my daughter's softball tournament. We return Saturday night to check the lines on the boat before forecasted storms blow in. The hasp on the companionway was cut. The scum stole my new speakers, tools, spare parts box and first aid kit. I usually remove my t...

How about the "Boat Blender"? See link. Its a blender attachment for your cordless drill.

Looks kinda fun. Sure beats lugging the ol' Kitchen-Aid on board. Lets face it, you have to have frozen concoctions to drink with Buffet and Marley songs!

Keving I just installed a stereo myself on my 05 M and it was quite simple. Routing the wiring can be a challenge depending on where you want it. I installed mine above the mirror and it took only a few hours tops. Looking back, there are a lot of dealer options that I would have rather done myself ...

Nemo: Bless you. It appears to me that you have the most expensive Mac of anyone on this board. It reminds me of a commercial: Selling your RV: $15,000.00 Blowing the proceeds on vacations: $15,000.00 Royal Carribean Cruise: $8,000.00 A week in Hawaii: $10,000.00 3 days at Lowes Resort at Coronado: ...

Has anyone switched from stay adjusters to turnbuckles?

After playing on my Mac last fall, my stepfather caught the sailing bug and purchased an older Catalina 22 over the winter. This past weekend, I helped him rig his boat to put in the marina. I was reminded how much more I like turnbuckles over the mast stay adjusters on my M. Have any of you made th...
