I still have my 26x and still love sailing in Lake Michigan and powering in the St. Joseph river and other small lakes. I remember the 'old ti...

boarding

Pouw,
That is exactly the step I was talking about. My wife really appreciates this step to help boarding over our high freeboard from a dock..I am glad you were able to show the pictures of it. It will be interesting to hear from dennisdl again and see what he decided for his arthritic knees.

My wife was always having "fun" boarding til I bought a clip-on single step. I attach it to the stanchion and unclip my pelican hook lifeline. I bought it at West Marine. The rope and metal clips are just the right length to ease trouble of boarding.

I have been to Hammond Indiana and their launch ramp is pretty easy to use..I enjoyed motoring past the casino boat to get on the lake...you just have to exit at Calumet Ave off I-94.

FIRST DAY

First check for small craft warnings. If you see 6-10 foot rolling waves and no other boats, then do not launch. Wait for a nice day! I have learned patience the hard way!
