Thanks Moe. Long story short.. I've got other toys that go fast, I'm wondering what size OB I need to go 20 knots with 800 lbs of humans onboard.

What size outboard?

I'm quite sure I'm going to buy a 2000X next week. It comes with a smaller 2 stroke. Nothing against 2 strokes, I'm just a four stroke person. Since I'm going to sell the "2", how big of "4" should I get? I'm going to do an equal amount of sailing vs. motoring. I'm going to use t...

I'm still searching for my first "Mac". I'm a pretty competetive guy. I was actually looking forward to getting a sailboat to relax a bit. After reading posts from all over this forum, I've learned a few things about sailors. (I've never even been on a sailboat). I'm going to fit right in ...

Has anybody here tried a stainless steel prop? I own a 21' Lund walleye boat (Typical V hull fishing boat) and was stunned at the difference when I switched from an aluminum to a stainless prop. My boat is pretty heavy, so is a Mac full of ballast, kids, etc. I run a 5 bladed Merc prop. I don't know...

I got sent out of town on short notice and just got back. After reading all the posts I know two things: 1. I'm definetely getting either an X or M 2. I don't have the slightest idea as to which one. I will use the power aspect of it a fair amount. My wife will sail it more often than I, so I'm goin...

Thanks for all the replies

To begin, I was asked what plane I fly. I have 1020 hours in the A7D, 1100 hours in the F16 Block 30 (NVG/TGT POD/DataLink). Been to the Sandbox too many times. Due to unit conversion, now flying the KC135. Oh well. To clarify my post last night, this will be our learning boat. I really appreciate a...

Need some advice!!!

I'll try to make a long story kind of short. I've been surfing a lot of web sites and this one seems to have the best bunch of posters by far. Here I go....... I don't think this will be as short as you'd all like. I'm 45 and my wonderful wife is 48. We live in Sioux City, Iowa, not exactly the sail...
